Coming back to fandom
Okay so it's been like 15 years since I've been properly excited about a fandom, so I didn't expect to be sitting here in my 40s, supposedly a serious adult with a real job and a real life (such as it is), having fallen even more deeply in love with Good Omens, a show based on a book that I've loved for over 20 years, a story that's always been there for me, this lovely little comfort read with a life-affirming message, and that has now eaten my entire brain and made it abundantly clear that I'll be stuck right here at least until season 3 comes out and gives me that beautiful everything-is-as-it-should-be cathartic resolution and I can finally rest and go back to real life (ha!)
I certainly didn't expect for this silly show about angels and demons to help me figure out this late in my life that I'm non-binary, to have all those parts of myself that I didn't quite understand suddenly start to make sense. I didn't expect to actually start to really own my queerness - which as a perpetually single person at my age, who's straight-enough-passing to not have to hang it all out there, while simultaneously being lucky enough to exist in a group of friends where queerness is basically the default and you'd almost have to come out as straight (old goths are the best) - is such a powerful experience, and is helping me figure out what the next part of my life will be and what the hell I'm doing around here.
The last time I was in a fandom, I was young (well, compared to now). I had parents who were still alive, who I was close to, and who I could share my excitement with. I've got beautiful memories of travelling from Australia to Europe with my mum in 2008, the last time we'd ever do that, of spending a couple of days of our precious holiday at Cardiff Bay watching the post-hub explosion scene in Torchwood Children of Earth being filmed, of her sneaking away and getting GDL's autograph for me on a random piece of paper, when I was too mortified to even consider it. I'll never watch Family of Blood or Utopia without remembering how I saw it for the first time with my dad, randomly flicking through channels and not really knowing what we were in for, and both of us experiencing that incredible, literally jaw dropping moment when Derek Jacobi was revealed as the Master, how I teasingly called him Father of Mine for years after that because it was such a wonderful shared moment for both of us (and because I was a totally cool and normal grown adult even then).
I never expected to fall straight back in love with Doctor Who after that, 15 years later, having lost both of my parents to awful illnesses, having tried to pretend that life, however fine it all was for the most part, hadn't had this constant undercurrent of existential dread, a horrible sense that from now on it would just be a series of losses, that all the things I loved would just fall away until there was nothing important left, that I could scramble for those little crumbs that felt like renewal or purpose but that ultimately felt hollow in the face of what seemed like an increasingly bleak and relentless world of serious things like work and mortgage payments and obligations and the whole thing of pretending to be a real adult doing Important Things.
I never expected just how healing, how utterly cathartic it would be to see 14 come back after all these years, older, tireder, after experiencing all that loss and grief, and to see them love so deeply, to see them find a new home, a new family, and to finally find a way to be actually, truly happy. I cried so much during that episode, and it felt like actual hope for the first time in years, like it helped to heal some part of myself that thought it would never be properly healed.
I'll never stop being in awe of how stories can do that. These silly little TV shows about angels and demons or time travel and the universe, which are really about humans and life and death and love and everything that's actually important, and which bring to the surface those deep truths that are hard to see among the minutiae of everyday life.
Stories are so powerful, and I'm so happy to feel excited about them again, and to have them weave their way back into the fabric of my life. So, thanks to RTD and @neil-gaiman for helping me find this feeling again, and thanks to fandom for continuing to exist while I figured out that this was one of the big parts that was missing from my life! <3

hii have i mentioned how much I ADORE jonah being out of his element?? he’s soooo baby sometimes. leo is the best bf ever omg. also this fic was so hot, every time he said something like im gonna throw up or im gonna puke again I was Combusting lmao. and!! jon crying!!! at the end!!! loml fr i just wanna hug him and give him a blanket😭
also i also get a really nervous stomach every time im anxious and you’ve written that SO perfectly. i feel so bad for jon because i know exactly how it feels rip.
and wen!! my girl!! calling jon up all excited :) she’s so <3333 also!??? leo saying bye love you to her?? he’s definitely gonna be thinking about that later going wtf was that. but oh well. it’s out there now, nothing he can do about it. god i love how affectionate their group is with each other. it’s so healing to read fr.
ps. JD i would die for you, you cuddle bug.
sorry this ask is soooo long btw but also:
in re irl story: it was a terrible one, he was trying really hard not to cry when he threw up, which was only making things worse tbh. but he did feel better after that and was finally able to sleep the rest of it off. he woke up soo grumpy it was so cute 🍄
OH forgot to yell about jonah having a whole Moment about his dad and his parents’ interacting!! truly a Child of Divorced Parents TM. never thought he cared that much about what his dad thought? but like. it makes sense. he’s his dad, and more significantly, it’s his dad who’s a doctor who’s image in the medical field is something jonah would obviously expect to live up to? like not literally, but being the son of a successful doctor has to have had some effect on jonah, especially as a med student himself. i think it’s wonderful that you write your ocs with so much thought behind them! gives us so many little easter eggs and makes them seem so real. 🍄
Hi 🍄! I'm so happy to hear I wrote a nervous stomach well, because I'm very much Bella-coded in this regard, I've never been queasy over nerves and it sounds pretty "fictional" to me lol.
I looove writing Jonah in full baby state, he's such a cat! No wonders he vibes with JD, who's also such a little diva.
LMAO Leo definitely laid awake in bed that night wondering if Wendy realized the slip up and Wendy definitely noticed it too.
Jon is very much a divorce child, down to his parents ping ponging him around and using him as leverage against each other. But like you said, I specifically think Jon holds his dad's opinion in high regard only about medicine. The man did build an incredibly successful career that kinda looms over Jonah, kinda inspires him too. If it was anything else, Jonah wouldn't have cared at all about him.
That's only 70% me projecting 😂😂
#🍄 anon#thank you for the ask 🍄!!!#who needs therapy when i can deal with my massive daddy issues through my multiple fucked up fictional dads#lovely correspondence

thank you so much for the request, sorry it took me a hot second to post! its longer than my other stories on here so far, so i hope that makes up for it. i also hope that you like what i did with it!! its angsty in the beginning but it gets fluffier <3

You could have never predicted how your life had gone so sideways. Not in a million years- before the accident, you were pretty much an average joe. Decent family, decent friends, decent existence. Nothing was ever really exciting, but you were okay with that. Life didn’t need to be crazy or unpredictable to be fulfilling.
But, you supposed, the price of being a living being on this Earth was that life could never truly be predictable at all. It couldn’t be, with the events that followed you losing your eye, and pretty much all normalcy you grew to live with.
It was extremely painful at first, physically and emotionally. You had lost a vital part of your body, and you could never get it back. It was disorienting, and uncomfortable, like an itch you could never scratch. The skin around your eye was incredibly sensitive, the lightest movement or touch sending shockwaves of burning pain through your nerves. Tears were always on the brink of spilling over anytime you or a doctor had to replace medicine and bandages to keep the wound clean.
In the end, the pain wasn’t the worst part about it. No, you could deal with the pain. The people in your life, however, suddenly changing and disappearing was way, way worse.
Friends slowly stop coming to visit you at the hospital, calls go unanswered, gazes averted. Your parents supported you, of course. They still loved you, and you knew nothing could change that. But sometimes even they got this look in their eyes, something a little too close to pity.
It was an incredibly lonely first couple of months.
But the loneliness and the heartache slowly healed, along with your eye. The scarring lightened and stopped bleeding, and your skin no longer felt as if it was on fire every time you turned your head. You still had to keep it under wraps, to keep out infection, and to keep other people from seeing how bad it was. You knew that people seeing the bandages would cause looks and questions, but it was better than people actually seeing the wound, which would surely cause reactions that you didn’t have the patience to deal with.
As you were healing, you were also relearning how to do things in your daily life. Your sight and depth perception drastically changed, so things like walking and doing simple tasks had to be practiced all over again. You had to take things slow, which you hated, you couldn’t leave the house very often until you got used to walking without bumping into things.
The first place you wanted to go once you were able to was the boardwalk. It was one of your favorite places in the world, so loud and full of life and happiness. It was absolutely what you needed after all of the hardship you had to deal with lately.
So one night, when it got late and your parents turned in for the night, you went out and caught a bus to the nearest stop to the boardwalk. From there you walked until you saw the bright lights and heard loud screaming and chatter and laughter. You smiled as you took in the sight of the people and the games and the rides, it felt like you were breathing for the first time in months.
The first thing you did was buy a big thing of cotton candy and a soda, roaming the boardwalk and consuming sugary goodness. As you walked, you noticed that some people were giving you looks, but you ignored them, focused on just having a good time and living your best life.
Walking around for long periods of time still gave you a bit of trouble, you were starting to get a little dizzy, so after a bit you sat down on a bench to give your brain time to catch up with the rest of your body. This was nice too, you got to relax and just watch people for a bit. There were all sorts of people out tonight, families and tourists and couples, teenagers and surf nazis and locals, all in one spot, the heart of Santa Carla, enjoying the wonders it had to offer.
There was a group of guys that caught your eye, though. You didn’t mean to stare at them; in fact, you knew not to, you’ve seen them around the boardwalk in the past, and heard the rumors surrounding them. But, in your defense, it has been a while since you’ve been there, and you forgot how magnetic they can be.
They were milling near their motorbikes, smoking and talking and lightly harassing anyone that happened to walk by. Three blondes and two brunettes- had there always been five of them? You could have sworn there was only four- all dressed in black and leather, looking dangerous and infuriatingly hot. You would have noticed more, but by accident you make eye contact with one of the guys and you rip your attention away from them.
Shit, god damnit, you’ve been spotted now. There’s only one thing to do, and it’s to walk quickly away and hope you don’t run into them later.
You get up too quickly though, and you stumble straight into a man walking with who you assume to be his girlfriend.
“Hey! Watch it-” He starts to say, pissed off that someone ran into him, but then he takes a good look at you and lets out a laugh. “Oh, I guess you really can’t, huh?”
The girlfriend lets out a giggle, smirking behind a hand over her lips. You mumble out an apology and try to go around them, but the man blocks your path. “What was that? C’mon man I can’t hear you, you mute too or something?”
You look up at him and scoff, anger building inside you. Who the hell did this asshole think he was? Without thinking, you say “Yeah, real funny and original. Bet lines like that really score you in bed.”
There’s some laughter around you, making you realize that a crowd has been drawn. The man’s face turned bright red, his mouth curved downward into a frown and he got up in your space. “Oh, so you’re a tough guy now, huh?” He pushed you in the chest, making you stumble back. You get dizzy and almost fall, but you don’t hit the ground. Instead, your back hits someone's chest. You freeze, then slowly turn your head, to see a guy with spiky platinum blond hair staring at the man who pushed you. The four other guys with him were also there, glaring at the crowd of people just watching.
You turned to look back at the man who pushed you, all the color was drained from his face. His girlfriend was clutching his arm, trying to pull the man away but his feet were glued in place. The blond behind you smirked.
“There a problem here?”
The silence that swept over was deafening and unnatural, it was like all of the boardwalk was holding its breath waiting for an answer. The man swallowed, eyes gliding over the gang behind you, not focusing on one spot. “N-No, man. No problem.”
You let out a breath as you watch the man and his girlfriend back up, and the crowd starts to disperse. The man behind you gives a shark-like grin and chuckles deep. “Wonderful.” He says, and he wraps an arm around your shoulders and pulls you away. You can hear your heart thundering in your chest as you walk away with them, listening as they laugh and push each other.
“N-No m-man, n-no p-problem!” One of the blonds says in a mocking wavering tone, “What a fuckin pussy!” The gang starts laughing again, it feels like the ground underneath your feet is rumbling from the force of it. After a little more walking, they stop in front of a different bench and gesture for you to sit down.
“Take a load off, little man!” You snorted as you sat down, grinning despite the slight lightheadedness. Two of the blonds sat next to you, one with a wild mane of hair and a smile to match swinging an arm behind you. You look at all of them, nodding your head a little bit. “Thank you,” You said softly, “You didn’t have to do that.”
The spiky blond shrugged his shoulders and asked, “What’s your name?”
“Y/N” You said, and he nodded. “I’m David. This is Dwayne, Michael,” He gestured to the two brunettes, one with curly hair and sunglasses hanging off his shirt, the other with longer straight hair and not wearing a shirt at all. “And that’s Paul and Marko.” The two blonds next to you do little waves, the one that wasn’t right next to you has curly hair and a jacket so cluttered with patches it must be heavy.
“It’s lovely to meet you, Y/N!” Paul says, nudging his knee against yours, making you smile more. “It’s good to meet you guys, too.”
After the introductions were out of the way, David offered for you to hang out with them, but you declined, saying you needed to get home. At that David offered a ride instead. You hesitated, but accepted in the end. Riding behind him on his bike was terrifying and exhilarating, you clutched his middle tightly the whole way home, but the blond didn’t seem to mind.
“You should come to the boardwalk more often,” David said as you got off his bike, now at your house. He smiled at you like he was letting you in on a secret, “We’re there all night.”
From that point on, you couldn’t ignore the boy's siren call. The next couple days you would take the bus over, wander until you found them, and then do stupid shit with them all night. A lot of it consisted of them terrorizing people who even looked at them funny, but you didn’t find it scary anymore. You found it powerful. It was the best you’ve felt in a long time.
It wasn’t long, though, until the questions started. You supposed you should have seen it coming, but hanging out with them honestly made you forget.
“So Y/N,” Paul said one night, it was just you and him and Marko. You were leaning against the railing in front of the carousel, waiting for the others to get back from getting food. When you looked over at Paul, he asked “What’s up with the eye?”
Marko punched Paul's shoulder, giving him a look, and Paul threw his hands up dramatically. “What? I don’t mean anything by it, I’m just curious.”
You sighed a little bit, mulling over what to say. You weren’t mad that he asked, you just hated talking about it. “There’s nothing much to say.” You said after a couple seconds of silence. “I was in an accident. Got fucked up. End of story.” Paul and Marko both nodded, taking the hint not to ask anymore. The taller blond wrapped an arm around your shoulders and rested his chin on top of your head. A silent apology. You smiled a little and leaned into him, letting him know it was okay.
After that, David, Dwayne and Michael arrived back with food, and once everyone settled down at a nearby table to eat, David proposed that they go back to their place after eating. You were nervous to accept, but they were cool guys so far, so you didn’t see the harm in it.
Before you could voice your opinion, however, a sudden cold, wet substance suddenly splashed all over your face. You yelped and got up, trying to shake off whatever the fuck it was, when you heard laughter getting distant. Suddenly, the boys were all getting up and shouting, someone was holding onto your shoulders, and when you wiped at your eye you could see it was Dwayne. He looked absolutely livid.
“What the fuck just happened?” You asked, looking down at yourself, disgusted to find that your clothes were soaked now too. The brunette gripped your shoulders a little tighter, not enough to hurt but the pressure was there, “Some people have a death wish.”
You would have asked him to elaborate, but then something dawned on you. “Oh shit!” You exclaim, hand going up to your bandaged eye. “Fuck, I have to get home, I have to change this, fuck!” Dwayne's eyes widened a little, and he nodded, calling attention to the other boys, who were all talking angrily to each other. They all looked over, and when they heard that you needed to change your bandage, they all hurried over. “Our place is closer. Michael, take Y/N to get the supplies he needs. We’ll meet back up at the hotel.” David all but commanded, and everyone seemed to be in agreement. The rest of the boys took off on their bikes while Michael steered you in the direction of a small convenience store on the edge of the boardwalk.
“You okay?” Michael asked, worry written all over his face. You nodded at him, though in reality you were feeling gross, sticky and anxious as hell. You thought it was so nice of them to help you out, really, but you knew this meant that they would probably end up seeing your eye. Seeing your scars. The thought alone was enough to make you slightly nauseous. The brunette could tell that something more was going on with you, so he gently took your hand as you approached the shop. You looked at him, and he smiled at you, squeezing your hand gently. You gave a light smile back and looked away.
After buying the necessary wrap, tape and some bottles of water, you both get on Michaels bike and ride off to their place. You were just thinking about it now, David had said the word “hotel”. Did they stay at an actual hotel?
It didn’t take you long to figure out. When you arrived at the hotel, that was really more of a cave, you were in absolute awe of the place. It was massive and beautiful, you couldn’t believe these guys actually lived here. You had so many questions, but now that you were here, they would have to come after.
Michael led you over to a slightly dusty couch and you sat down, holding the items in your hands nervously. Everyone was sitting around you, you had a very attentive audience that you didn’t really want.
“Is there, uh, a private place I could do this?” You asked, and your heart sank when they shook their heads. “Most of the rooms collapsed when the earthquake hit. There’s not much left, and the parts that remain are too dangerous to go into.” Marko explained, and you sighed. You supposed there was no getting around it.
“Okay, well. Just, don’t say anything, okay?” You got out the bandage wrap from its packaging and took a deep breath. Slowly, you unwrapped the dirty bandage from around your face, revealing your eye to the boys.
All of their facial expressions changed, some more surprised than others. David looked the least shocked, eyes of steel trained on your face, just looking. Dwayne and Michael looked a little more concerned, Michael especially, but otherwise they tried to keep their expressions neutral. Paul and Marko looked intrigued, if anything. Like they wanted to ask questions but were reigning themselves in.
Overall, they kept quiet, and they didn’t shy away from your appearance, so you counted your blessings as you cleaned and dressed your eye as quickly as possible. When you were all finished, Marko and Paul launched themselves at you, sitting next to you with wide smiles on their faces.
“Dude! You’re so badass!” Paul shouted, and Marko was quick to agree. “You should get an eyepatch or something. Crank up the badass factor.”
You laughed at their antics, blushing a bit at their words. You could tell that they really thought you were actually cool. It warmed your chest and you smiled as they went on about eyepatch ideas.
Eventually, David dragged the two away, saying it's getting late and they should probably take you home now. You nodded in agreement, letting out a yawn. You didn’t realize just how tired you were.
Dwayne was the one who ended up taking you home, the ride was a lot gentler and smoother than it usually was, which you were grateful for. When you arrived at your house, and you got off his bike, Dwayne pulled on your arm before you could leave. You looked at him, confused, but then he got off his bike, and he stood in front of you, and he leaned down to place a gentle kiss on your cheek. You froze, heart pounding. Dwayne pulled away and let go, giving you a small smile. “Have a good night, Y/N.”
You swallowed hard as he got back on his bike. “Yeah- you too.” You stumbled out, making him chuckle. He then rode back off into the night, and you were left stunned on your front lawn.
You didn’t know what would happen now, you had absolutely no clue when it came to the gang of bikers. But you found yourself at peace with it.
Life could never be predictable anymore. And you were more than okay with that.

Chapter Ten of Home
Atsumu x fem reader, Suna x fem reader, Hinata x fem reader
Summary: a glance back
Warnings: some NSFW elements in this chapter
AN / so it looks like the chapters are going to be shorter than before but that’s just because I can only keep my energy up for so long. I really do enjoy writing but it’s easier for me to write smaller chapters rather than like before. Also I know Suna hasn’t been as present I promise we will be getting more of him soon! UNEDITED SORRY
Part Nine: Closure
You collapsed onto your bed immediately after getting home from lunch with Atsumu and you haven’t moved for at least half an hour. Emotionally you were exhausted. Seeing him and thinking about him still caused a pang in your chest but that reunion was needed. You needed to start moving past him, that much you decided. He was your first love and he wounded you in a way that may never fully heal but now there’s two amazing guys trying to help you move forward.
You let a long grown rubbing your hands over your face. This were complicated enough when you were still coming to terms with your felling with Hinata. God he must be wondering what the hell is going with you leaving with his teammate. Maybe Bokuto and Sakusa have already started filling in the blanks for him. You could see those idiots snickering to themselves when you had encountered the group earlier. A soft smile graced your lips thinking of those two. You missed those two, and their constant bickering. You had become close to the the team over the years. Having hosted several victory parties at your and Atsumu’s shared home.
A small tear slipped down your cheek running down your face as you lay staring at the ceiling. Just another thing you had lost because of the setter. You released the breath you hadn’t realized you were holding. Shaking that thought from your mind it did no good to dwell on those things now. Thinking back to your favorite orange haired man you felt slightly nervous about having to explain everything to him. Sho is nowhere near as dumb as most think ,yes he tends to get a little over excited missing some details but he’s really quite clever, so he’s probably figured out most things. It’s not like he wasn’t aware of your past you had spilled that too him a lot quicker than you had planned. You can remember that moment clearly. It was the moment your feelings for Hinata had first started becoming deeper than you had intended, even though you denied them for a lot longer.
You stretched sitting up the soft cotton sheets falling your lap as you yawned searching searching the room for the familiar sight of Shoyo’s bright orange hair. You rose your brow at the lack of his presence. The small apartment was silent. Which made you draw the conclusion that he was not here, he’s to rambunctious to be home and not make any noise not that you minded. You had a clue where he could probably be and your suspicions were confirmed as you heard him enter through the front door. It surprised you the first morning it had happened but by now you are used to Hinata going for morning runs.
He stood in the door smile spreading across his face upon seeing you awake in this bed wearing only one of his old game shirts from Brazil. Your hair still a mess and the purple marks he left last night peaking out from the collar of the crew neck. It was certainly an amazing sight for him to come back to. He leaned against the door frame lifting the hem of his shirt to wipe some sweat from his face. Now it was your turn to appreciate the view. His abs and delicious v coming into sight. Grazing your eyes down to his workout shorts that fit nice and snug against his defined thighs. God his thighs were a blessing in and of themselves. After your quick glance you look back up to the eyes of the man in front of you.
“You know I’ll never understand how you can have the energy to go running in the morning after the nights we have,” you chuckle.
A wide grin sneaks his way to his face “ sorry I’m not the one who can barely walk in the morning,” he winks.
Your jaw drops at his cheeky comment. “ oh yeah we’ll have to change that,” you state smug unsure where all of this confidence came from. Although you weren’t expecting his response.
His eyebrow quirked at your insinuation, before smirking “ alright that can be arranged sometime soon!” He chuckled enthusiastically.
Your eyes widened the scenario playing in your mind quickly.
Hinata loved the shocked but curious expression painting your features. The next thing you new Sho had bolted from his spot jumping into the bed knocking you onto your back as he hovered over you. His hot breath tickled your neck his lips grazing your pulse before giving a nip. One hand had sneaked under the shirt you wore grasping onto your hip while the other kneaded your breast. Your breath grew shaky. He lowered his head to the valley between your breast before looking up to you. Peering at you through his orange waves that dangled in his face.
“You know I still have plenty of energy to take care of you,” he teased his voice dropping an octave. “ so baby tell where do you want me.”
“I want you,” you bite your lip looking at the sinful man in front of you. Your hand grips his chin pulling him up to you face to face, your eyes drop to his lips before returning to his darkened eyes. “In the shower, now get your sweaty ass off of me!” You push his Lunky body of off you before standing.
He groans looking over at you “tease!” He yells.
You turn back sticking your tongue out at him, “ go shower loser im going to make some coffee and breakfast,” you yelled over your shoulder as you headed to the kitchen. Hinata enjoyed the view of you walking away before sighing in defeat, he was really grimy from his run, plus he could use a cold shower right now.
———
You moved around his small kitchen with an air of familiarity. It was about a little over a month since your agreement of friends with benefits began. After fixing a small breakfast and some coffee Shoyo finally emerged fully dressed and cleaned. Taking a sip from his mug and surveying the food you had made. He smiled.
“Damn Y/N this looks amazing!” He smile his signature smile. “You know it surprise me how a girl like you is single!” He doesn’t sense the mistake he had made immediately. You had never talked about why you didn’t want to date before. Not feeling your tragic history with love was appropriate pillow talk. You froze at this statement. Unwanted thoughts and memories swirling in your mind. All of your insecurities starting to surface. Hinata noticed the shift in the air immediately. It was hard not to as your hands grabbed at the counter for some stability. Your eyes trained on the surface, voice caught in your throat. How do you respond to that.
If there’s one thing about Hinata that is certain it’s that’s he’s incredibly caring. He moved around the corner of the counter standing next to your side placing a gentle hand on your shoulder. “Hey Y/N are you okay! Was it something I said? I’m real sorry ya know!” You turn to him tears brimming in your eyes. He doesn’t speak again or ask you to just pulling you into him as you bury your face into his chest as you sob. He places a reassuring hand your back rubbing soothing circles onto your back hoping to help calm you.
It feels nice and it helps a lot more than you expected. Although guilt starts to build as you realize your crying in front of a man you only know through sex. God this is embarrassing. Before you can try to retreat. Sho navigates you to his sofa. After relaxing into the cushions you look up at him. While he’s trying to look calm and reassuring you can sense the worry in him.
He takes this moment to speak. “ you know you can talk to me Y/N I’ll listen to you about whatever you have going on, no judgment.” You sigh looking up at him. Looking up into his eyes you don’t know why you aren’t more hesitant but it honestly feels like you can tell him anything. And so you do. You tell him almost everything. Leaving out names and some of the more gory details. You tell him all about your heartache. And he sits and listens to you intently. Although he didn’t show it he was furious with how you had been treated. But he didn’t want to interrupt your venting. It felt really nice to actually talk to someone about everything and how you feel and Sho was amazingly supportive throughout the whole ordeal.
Wiping the mostly dried tears from your cheeks you gave Hinata a soft smile. “ thank you Shoyo I’m sorry I dropped all of this on you, it probably not what you signed up for.” You gave a nervous chuckle.
He returned your smile, looking at you earnestly, he gripped your shoulder gently making you look up at him. “Hey none of that non sense! You can always talk to me no matter what!” He smiled.
Your eyes shinned up at him with a forgotten emotion. “Really?” You questioned
His smile grew even bigger “Yeah! Absolutely! What are friends for!” He beamed!

Joshua Jackson interview with "Mr Porter" (2021)
Minutes before Mr Joshua Jackson joins me in a booth for a Friday afternoon drink at a vibey hotel bar in Santa Monica, he’s confronted by his past. Or rather, a woman in her early twenties who is binge-watching Dawson’s Creek, the teen show about a close-knit group of high-school friends coming of age in a sleepy American town, which made Jackson incredibly famous between 1998 and 2003. The series, which also made household names of Ms Michelle Williams and Ms Katie Holmes, went off air 18 years ago, but is now streaming on Netflix, to the bemusement of Jackson, who played lovable rogue Pacey Witter. “This girl was like, ‘Are you...?’ And I’m like, ‘Yes, I am. He got old. I’m sorry to break it to you,’” he says, before ordering an iced tea and a charcuterie board to tide him over until dinner time. “It always surprises me when young people say they’ve just got into Dawson’s Creek. I’m like, ‘Is it a costume drama to you? Do you feel like you’re watching a historical documentary?’”
The idea of a Friends-style reunion episode or a Sex And The City revival feels equally far-fetched to Canadian-born Jackson, now 43 and wearing it well in a pale green linen shirt and tailored linen trousers by Oliver Spencer that complement his fading brown hair and Cali-tanned skin.
“I don’t know why you’d want to [bring it back],” he says. “Nobody needs to know what those characters are doing in middle age. We left them in a nice place. Nobody needs to see that Pacey’s back hurts. I don’t think we need that update.”
And Jackson doesn’t need Dawson’s Creek. From Mr JJ Abrams’ sci-fi series Fringe (2008-2013) to the Golden Globe award-winning The Affair (2014-2019), from Ms Ava DuVernay’s ground-breaking true-crime drama When They See Us (2019) to the recent Ms Reese Witherspoon and Ms Kerry Washington-produced Little Fires Everywhere (2020), he has commanded the small screen – with a collection of dynamic and diverse work – ever since.
His latest role as Mr Christopher Duntsch, the Texas surgeon convicted of gross malpractice when 33 of his patients were left seriously injured after he operated on them and two of them died, in chilling Peacock crime drama Dr Death, is only stepping his career up another gear.
“I’ve never played anyone irredeemable before,” says Jackson, who is joined in the eight-part series (based on the 2018 Wondery podcast of the same name) by Messrs Christian Slater and Alec Baldwin. “He is charming, gregarious and has a high-level intellect, but he’s also a misogynist, probably a sociopath, certainly a narcissist and a complete incompetent who is incapable of seeing himself.”
If Duntsch is terrifying, then Jackson’s portrayal is even more so. The artist formerly known as Pacey is virtually unrecognisable (thanks to prosthetics) in the opening scene, but the real challenge for Jackson was allowing himself to view someone who is so “spectacularly evil” as a human being in order to walk in his shoes. “It’s a more damning portrayal of the man to make him into a human being, rather than just make him the bad guy,” he says. “He really believes he’s the hero, he’s the genius and that he’s the victim, so once I got past my own judgment, all the other things fell into place.”
Jackson might have his pick of stellar roles – and challenges – now, but it has not happened by accident. Take it from someone who has been in the business since landing his first job aged 14 in Disney’s live-action movie series The Mighty Ducks, opposite Brat Pack alumnus Mr Emilio Estevez.
“You try to make it look like it happens accidentally,” he says, “but there is no way to do this and not be ambitious. I’d say I’m extremely ambitious because I’ve been doing this cutthroat job for nearly 30 years. I’m in the pay-off phase of my career now. One of the benefits of surviving for as long as I have is you get to learn from your own mistakes.”
Such as? “I wouldn’t say, ‘I wish I hadn’t done that,’ because it all becomes bricks in a path, but [after Dawson’s Creek] I was not choosy enough about the things I was doing. You get stuck. You start trying to perform the performance you think people are hoping to see you do. I was so used to working all the time that I just worked all the time. There was definitely a conscious moment in my mid-twenties when I realised I wasn’t really enjoying the work that I was doing. My manager at the time just said, ‘Take a breath. You’re burnt out.’”
The turning point came in 2005, when Jackson was offered a role in the two-hander Mr David Mamet play A Life In The Theatre, opposite Sir Patrick Stewart. “God bless him, Patrick could have made my life miserable because I had no idea what I was doing, ” he says. “I hadn’t been on stage since I was a kid and now I was in the West End in over my head. But it reminded me that I actually enjoyed being an actor, that it’s not about the red carpet or travelling around the world. What I really enjoy is working on good material with good people.”
It’s no surprise Jackson’s time on Dawson’s Creek led to a career crisis. From the ages of 19 to 24, he lived with his fellow cast mates in Wilmington, North Carolina, filming day in, day out, in an arrangement he likens to college. “You get to the end and they’re like, ‘Here’s your degree. Go live now. You’re an adult. Go out into the world,’” he says.
But most graduates don’t have to deal with global fame. “It’s transitory. You’re only ever cool for a moment and then you become much less cool. I was always pretty dubious about flatterers,” he says, recalling a time he was stung in London in the mid-2000s. “I went on a date in Hyde Park with a woman whose name I will not use – she was socialite-famous – and she was acting completely bizarre, looking over her shoulder the whole time. I came to find out that she had hired a photographer to follow us through the park and gave a whole story to the tabloids about how I was going to meet her family.”
It was his growing fortune, rather than fame, that caused Jackson the most anxiety. “Suddenly, at 19 years old, I was making more in a week than most of my friends’ parents would make in a year,” he says. “It was lovely to have the money, but it was that feeling of nobody is worth that kind of money. You feel like a fraud and it took me a long time to forgive myself for not being the thing that I was perceived as.”
Born in Vancouver, but raised in Topanga, California, until he was eight (before moving back to Vancouver following his parents’ divorce), Jackson bought his childhood home in 2001 and lives in it today with his wife, British Queen & Slim actor Ms Jodie Turner-Smith, and their 15-month-old daughter.
“My father unfortunately was not a good father or a husband and exited the scene, but that house in Topanga was where everything felt simple, so it was a very healing thing for me to do,” he says. Fast-forward to 2021 and his baby daughter now sleeps in her father’s childhood bedroom. “There was a mural of a dragon on the wall in that room that I couldn’t believe was still there, years later. The owner [who sold him the house] said, ‘I knew it meant a lot to somebody and that they were going to come back for it some day.’”
Becoming a first-time parent during a pandemic sounds stressful, but it afforded Jackson months at home with his wife and child that his normal work schedule wouldn’t have allowed.
“I now recognise how perverse the way that we have set up our society is,” he says. “There is not a father I know who works a regular job who didn’t go back to the office a week later. It’s robbing that man of the opportunity to bond with his child and spend time with his partner.”
Despite his obvious career ambitions, fatherhood has changed Jackson’s priorities in “every possible way”, he says. “It’s 100 per cent changed how I approach my work and my life. That has been made so clear to me in this past year. For me to feel good about what I’m doing day to day, my family has to be the central focus.
“There are plenty of things left for me to do, but now the thing that gets me excited is experiencing the world through my daughter’s eyes. I can’t wait to take her scuba diving. I can’t wait to take her skiing. I can’t wait to read a great book with her. I’m not worried at all she’ll be a wallflower. She’s been a character from the word go.”
Jackson met Turner-Smith, 34, two days after his 40th birthday. He had been single since his 10-year relationship with German actress Ms Diane Kruger ended in 2016. “I was not looking to fall in love again or meet the mother of my child, but life has other plans for you,” he says.
The couple met at a party. Turner-Smith was wearing the same The Future Is Female Ejaculation T-shirt Ms Tessa Thompson’s character, Detroit, wears in the 2018 film Sorry To Bother You. “That’s what I used to break the ice. I shouted, ‘Detroit!’ across the room. Not the smoothest thing I’ve ever done, but it worked. We were pretty much inseparable from the word go. It was a whirlwind romance and I can tell my daughter I literally saw her mother across a room and thought, ‘I have to be next to this woman.’”
A self-confessed “useless” shopper, Jackson gives his wife full credit for his current wardrobe. He is jewellery-free, apart from a wedding band and a gold signet “JJ” ring on his little finger (a present from his wife), and discovered tailored sweatsuits (by Stampd and Reigning Champ) in the pandemic.
“Jodie has influence in the way that a wonderful wife encourages you, through love, to dress well. She was like, ‘We’re going to throw away all the sweatpants from your past and I’m going to get you some that actually make you look like an adult male and you will still feel comfortable around the house,’ and I’m like, ‘What an amazing idea!’ Who knew you could get sweatsuits that actually look good on your body?”
Jackson’s style has evolved, he says, “from slovenly teen to it’s-nice-when-your-clothes-actually-fit-you”. The penny dropped after he auditioned for his former co-star Estevez, who was directing the 2006 Mr Robert Kennedy biopic Bobby. He said to me, ‘You only got this job because I know you. You came in here to play a very well-put together 1960s political operative and you’re wearing jeans and a hoodie.’
“I had to grow up a little bit. We are very much raised in Canada to never, ever show off, so it took me a while to recognise it’s OK to look good when you go out.”
Still, when you’ve grown up in front of the camera, “every pimple literally documented”, and lived (very successfully) to tell the tale, you can probably be forgiven for the odd fashion faux pas.
“I wore a silk Ascot to an event once in Paris and I still have nightmares about it,” he says. “I looked like Fred from Scooby Doo, but you live and learn.”

Hiya there!!!! Could i maybe please have some headcanons about the characters you write for being in love with a very domestic/ cottagecore/ disney-princess-loving sweet girl who works at a daycare (with babies) ?
Im sorry if that didnt make much sense im french but i love your writing!!! Have an amazing day!! 😊
Your patience is extraordinary. I’m so sorry this took so long, and I’m additionally sorry that I couldn’t provide more characters for this. Between it beginning to feel repetitive and just having a mental block on it, which has been practically consuming my ability to write, I’m afraid I was only able to give you five characters, but hopefully the accidental mini stories they turned into makes up for that!
Under the cut you will find headcanons or miniature fics tbh for Din Djarin, Ezra, Frankie Morales, Javier Peña and Poe Dameron
Din Djarin
Looking after Grogu is Din’s priority. So, when he sees his adoptive son clinging to your leg after he leaves him at the small daycare on Nevarro, utterly enraptured in your every movement as you finish putting away the colourful pencils the children had been playing with, well, he’s intrigued.
When Grogu is reluctant to leave the planet, putting on a fuss as he flies away, well, he’s fascinated.
Plenty of people got along with the little green baby, and it seemed people fell for his big bug eyes everywhere they went. But he hadn’t seen the child so enraptured before… It was almost the same kind of adoration he seemed to throw towards Din.
Weeks pass before he’s landing back in Nevarro, ready to take on another job, and he’s almost forgotten about you. But the way Grogu perks up at the familiar surroundings is an instant reminder.
He hadn’t even intended to leave the kid at the daycare this time, it was only meant to be a short trip after all, but who could say ‘no’ to those pleading eyes?
The day’s half over when he knocks on the door. Children of all species are spread about the room, and there’s an air of chaos to the scene, but as you meet his gaze through that vizor that keeps him shielded from the rest of the room, he finally understands the absolute sense of calm you exude.
He’s frozen.
Your smile cuts through him, it’s gentle and soft and reassuring and everything he didn’t know he’d been missing for so many years now.
He stutters, genuinely stutters when he hands Grogu over, asking if he can spend the rest of the day with the other children. And if you notice, well, you’re not about to mention it just yet.
He’s making more trips to Nevarro, even he refuses to acknowledge why. The kid needs to socialise more, jobs from Karga are smarter, it’s good to keep in contact with the Cara, to know what the rebellion is up to… Excuses seem to pile up upon one another. Of course it couldn’t have anything to do with the fact that every time he sees your smile directed at him, every time he watches the way you play with Grogu, the world seems a little lighter.
A dangerous mission is what changes things.
He knows it’ll bring good credits, and provide more safety for the kid in the long run, but bringing him along for the ride is too risky, and it’s exactly what the enemy would be expecting. So he asks if you’ll look after him, just for a few days.
Of course, you’re more than happy to take the little green menace, but it’s the way you tell him to be careful, the way he can almost see genuine worry in your gaze as you utter words of care that he’s so damn unused to that has him struck once more.
The sight of you there, looking at him with such a gentle look, with his kid in your arms, well, it distracts him more than he’d care to admit.
So when he comes back to Nevarro, to your house of all things, he’s a little worse for wear, and he’s certainly not expecting the way you usher him in, or the way you look after him. Suddenly, leaving Nevarro at all seems like the stupidest decision possible, when you’re there in your humble house that still screams home more than anything he can remember.
He stays for days, you’re insistent that he heal properly and take the time to rest before he goes rushing back into the universe. And it’s the most relaxed he’s ever felt.
Ezra
After his time in The Green, Ezra is certain of one thing, he’s had enough of that damn colour.
There’s only so long you can spend surrounded by shades of green before it starts to haunt you, and even the most poetic of people lose any sense of beauty they once found in it.
But then there was you.
You, who lived a life so far removed from what he had experienced, that the flowery poetics seemed to just flow from him once more.
His insecurities after losing his arm seemed to lessen in your presence, caught up in the whirlwind that was you.
Laughter and joy seemed to fill the days, and sometimes he’d even help you with your work simply to enjoy the bubble of joy you seemed to exude, to embrace every moment of happiness that he was lucky enough to experience.
Colours seemed brighter, and filled with a range he had only hoped to see, when you were around. And those poems he had loved so dearly were not just a distant dream, they were tangible and real.
Softness and beauty coloured his days once more, and his heart was full.
Even green seemed more beautiful now.
Frankie Morales
In all honesty? He’s terrified. You’re his daughter’s daycare worker and it doesn’t matter that you make him smile, make those damn butterflies fill his chest in a way he hasn’t felt since he was an awkward teenager. It doesn’t matter that your smile is so damn captivating that it has him smiling goofily to himself the whole damn drive to work after he drops his daughter off with you.
It doesn’t matter because it can’t. He won’t interfere with your work and he certainly won’t be that creep who asks you out when you look after his daughter, no, nope, absolutely not.
But then, a year later, and his daughter is off to preschool, and yeah, ok, he’s a bit of a wreck as he shops for school supplies, but suddenly you’re there. It hasn’t been long at all, and yet he can’t help but think how much he has missed that smile.
It’s so much harder to explain to his little girl that, despite the chance encounter, you won’t be a part of her life anymore, especially when she’s so darn excited to see you, and so he stumbles, he struggles and glances to you for help and, well, the help you give has him even more lost for words.
You suggest lunch, on the first weekend after she’s started school. Just Frankie, her and you, all meeting at a park where his daughter can tell you all about ‘big school’.
He’s silent so long that you worry you’ve overstepped, and just as you’re about to ramble off some excuse in a desperate attempt to backtrack, he offers you the most beaming smile you’ve ever seen.
Well, your not so little crush was doomed, and so was your heart. But after lunch that soon turned into a weekly affair, you soon came to realise, your heart was in very safe hands.
Javier Peña
I’m not going to lie, at first Javier is skeptical to say the least. He’s seen chaos and pain and suffering for so long, that seeing someone so damn gentle? Yeah, he’s wondering what your game is. But then it becomes something else, it becomes a fascination. You seem sincere in your softness, and he finds himself smiling back at you in an instant, before he can even question it.
So, skepticism turns to curiosity. Are you just naive to the horrors of the world? Are you really that sheltered that you believe what the fairytales told you the world would be? He has to know, even if he’s cursing himself the whole damn way.
He’s spending more time with you to figure you out, that’s what he tells himself. Of course, it’s obvious to everyone else the change that you bring. His shoulders are less tense, he’s not bitting people’s heads off at work, hell, he’s smiling more.
It’s different to what he’s used to. It’s softer, and slower, and he’s reluctant as hell, but things just seem to happen.
You’re at his place as often as your own. You’re sharing movies with him that he’s never even considered seeing before, you’re sharing your lives with one another, and there hasn’t been a single date so far.
You’re everything he’s fighting to protect, before he can even acknowledge his own feelings for you. But as oblivious as Javier can be to these things, you’re not. You know the stories, the tales of love that seemed to pass him by. You’re patient as he navigates his way through his feelings.
It’s a random moment in time, really. You’re on his couch, talking about the children you work with, it’s just another day. But it’s everything to him. It’s the moment he realises you’re his all, that being right there, in that moment, listening to you talk about children you clearly adore, children that aren’t even your own, it’s all he’s ever needed, and all he ever wants.
The progression from that odd friendship to something more is surprisingly smooth.
Of course, he’s bound to stumble along the way, it’s so far from what he’s used to that he’s terrified half the time of stuffing up to a point of no return. But it’s genuine, it’s real, and you can both simply be yourselves; even if he does tease you a little about the ‘childish’ decor that starts to fill the apartment when you finally move in.
Poe Dameron
It was an accident, the first time Poe quite literally ran into you. BB-8 assured him that it would be faster to get to his ship through the path he had never ventured before as he rushed to fly out for a sudden mission, and he was right. What the little droid had failed to mention, however, was that said path ran directly through the resistance’s schooling area.
It was a small group of rooms, with few children of resistance members actually living on base, but it was something so downright shocking that it had him stumbling in shock as he glanced about at the colourful finger paintings and bright array of plants that he didn’t even notice the way the group of preschoolers stared up at him in awe, or, for that matter, the fact that you were standing before him... until you weren’t. The force of his sprint landed you on the floor with nothing but a surprised “ooft!” coming from your lips, and an echoing round of shocked and anxious gasps from your students.
After an awkward round of apologising, and continuing to call out long after he had checked you were alright and helped you up, he was off, making his way once more, the sound of “sorry!” fading away as he drifted further down the corridors.
One chance meeting suddenly turned into more. It seemed wherever he turned, there you were. Grabbing a late meal at the same time, having your med-checks one after the other it was as if fate itself had decided the two of you simply had to interact.
You filled his mind, someone so normal amongst the chaos of war. And while he may not have realised it, he began to seek you out.
Chatting with your kids about flying, bringing back interesting plants he saw on his adventures, there was always a reason to see you, after-all, Poe Dameron was the King of Excuses.
But you brought him a sense of hope and home, something he had missed for far too long, and he wasn’t about to give that up anytime soon.

Roswell New Mexico - Season 3, Episode 5
This season continues to be significantly better than last season in many ways and I still find myself surprised by that every episode.
Most of the storylines feel very interconnected and that’s great. Characters are actually interacting this season in a way they rarely have before and that cannot be overstated. I actually believe these people are a friend group this season and that’s a massive improvement.
Maria is the best she’s ever been this season. They have finally made me like her as a character rather than just me wanting to like her. She feels integrated into the group. She’s at the center of the story, at the center of the character group. She’s not only relevant for dating Michael. It’s so nice.
I think the highlight of this episode for me was the Michael and Rosa scene at the end. It was a long overdue apology and it felt like real character growth for Michael. I also felt like it embodied a lot of the themes of this season and the show overall in terms of the more social/political side of things in a way that felt natural and meaningful because it was very much woven into the fabric of the overall story.
Because as much as I understand the desire to do this whole militia/acab/racism story that yes, does have its foundations in the overall fabric of the show, it does sometimes feel very heavy handed. Maybe it’s because it’s been such a prevalent subject during covid times and it’s too real or because I feel like every other show I’ve watched has also done this story, but I find myself kind of longing for the trashy alien side of things more because I sometimes feel like that side of the show gets lost under the want to be so socially minded. Don’t get me wrong, they are important subjects and I definitely enjoyed Maria and Rosa and reporter chick taking down Jordan and I thoroughly support Jones in his choice of victim but sometimes it’s a lot. I will say though that making it an overall story this season is better than some of the other times they’ve done little bits here and there that very much feel like box ticking on a checklist. So I will give them that. I just want the alien stuff too.
Which I suppose is what Deep Sky might get us if we ever see them again. I miss Alex and I really hope the episodes he does get to be in, he features heavily because this Deep Sky stuff seems to be isolating him a lot and I’m not a huge fan of that. Especially because if there is going to be a Malex reunion, I want it to feel earned and for that, I need them to interact or talk about the relationship with other people. I need to see the growth from Alex and the pining from both. And that can’t happen if Alex is never on screen. Also, I want to see them be actual friends too.
But anyway, yay Kyle’s alive…for now. I did enjoy everyone mansitting him and trying to keep him out of trouble. Also I would like for him to stay alive please and not keep putting his life in danger at the end of every episode.
Eek about Maria at the end. Yet another reason I hate that we’re not getting previews.
Glad Liz is back in Roswell and that she seems to have learned from her time away. Poor Heath though.
I’m super suspicious of Jones healing Max and I sort of feel like they body swapped or something because there were some looks and moves that felt more like Jones after he was healed.
I’m glad the reporter/singer was back. One day I will learn her name. I was glad she got to help with the takedown and I liked her and Isobel getting to share that scene in the end. I still need Isobel to date and on screen woman and they had a vibe, you know if she wants to go from Max to his sister. Just saying. I’d be here for it.
It might be Jones, but I did like that Liz and Max didn’t just magically get back together, that they know that there’s a lot more they have to work on/work through.
I was excited to see Arturo back. But can we stop hurting him?
Also happy to see Rosa interacting with the group a little more. But every time she says “Rosalinda” like that is at all an adequate cover I kind of facepalm.
Not that I want Wyatt to get screen time, but I did think it was a little odd that he wasn’t present for all of this Roswell regiment stuff.
Nice that Bert continues to appear though. He’s becoming a fun regular side character.
But can we get Kyle’s mother back to be the Sheriff or the mayor again because all of these people suck.
I wonder how long Michael’s “less tequila” promise will last.
Maria and Greg continue to be cute.
So yeah…overall, I think this season is going pretty well. I’m a whole lot less frustrated. I just need more Alex and more alien stuff.

May I request some Luther & the showgirls working for Jack, as they seem to get along well. Though it seems like you already got quite a few requests, so feel perfectly free to ignore this. Hope the muse will become a bit more cooperative <3.
Thanks for your patience with this, sorry took a little longer than expected! Put a little bit of asexual Luther in here, hope that's okay. Also this is Gordo and this is Valentina.
-
Luther’s dinner is interrupted when a newspaper appears in front of his face.
“Look at this Lulu!” Patsy chirps over his shoulder as she holds it, “First woman in space! Can you believe it?”
“Not even long after the men,” Sandra says, leaning on the bar next to him, proud smirk on her face.
Luther takes the paper, acts like he’s surprised, like he didn’t already know. “Wow, look at that!” he says.
He’d learned about Valentina Tereshkova when he was just a kid, hell he’d been able to list all the Mercury Seven by the time he was four. He’d been upset, actually, that he’d been dropped at the tail end of December 1962 and had missed almost all their flights. At the very least he’d seen Gordo go up, the first to stay up for a whole day. Despite how he got here Luther’ll remember that as one of his favorite days of his life.
“A woman,” Marvin the bartender mutters as he sweeps up behind the counter, “and a Russian at that!” He scoffs and shakes his head.
Luther bites back a smile, Marvin’s gonna be real disappointed by a whole lot of things if he lives a lot longer.
“Hush, you,” Patsy says, shaking her hands at him, “you gotta start being more modern, like Luther.” He rolls his eyes and keeps sweeping.
“Nice to have some forward thinking men ‘round here,” Sandra says, leaning over the bar to grab a bottle of brandy. She was the one who’d given Luther a tour of the place, had teased him when he’d looked away as they passed the changing room.
She pours herself a glass, tips the bottle Luther’s way. He nods and lets her top off the glass at his elbow. He says, “Thank you.” They love how polite he is.
The girls all like him, or seem to at least. Luther’s never been anywhere that…well, anywhere, ever, especially where he’s around actual people. He acts how he’s sure he’s supposed to act and so far it’s working. This is still new, even months later; he wonders often if the day’s gonna come when he slips up and reveals a whole lot about himself they won't understand.
But he does like them, that's true. “How’s Bobby?” He asks.
“That lout!” Sandra says, rolling her eyes, holding up her left hand. “The day I get a ring on this finger is the day the saints come marching just for me.” She and Luther take a drink together.
Autumn bustles through the door then, gives a cheerful hello as she comes up to the bar, setting down a Tupperware container.
“Tell me those are lemon bars,” Patsy says, peering over them with a grin.
“Ma made ‘em this afternoon,” Autumn says, cracking open the lid to give her a peek. She points a finger at Luther, “And you’re gonna take some this time mister, none of that ‘no sugar’ nonsense.”
Luther gives an apologetic smile, “I have a fight tomorrow.” He’s always had a strict diet, his whole life, to keep in fighting shape. Sugar was a luxury saved for mom’s birthday cakes. He’s found it’s not all that different- training for dad’s missions or Jack’s matches. It’s alright though, he’s used to it, even if the lemon bars are tempting.
“Again, so soon?” Autumn’s expression turns concerned, “This hasn’t even healed yet!”
She reaches out towards him, to the cut that sits over his right eyebrow still sporting three stitches, but doesn’t actually touch. The girls are sweet, used to being flirty with patrons, but they’d learned within the first week that Luther was strange about physical touch. They’ve all been careful about it ever since, an unspoken agreement between him and them. He’s embarrassed by it, he tells himself it’s a stupid hang up to have, but it’s a relief and he’s thankful to them for it.
“It’s really not that bad,” he assures her. He heals fast, he can’t tell them why though. “I just won’t get hit there again.” He already knows he won’t, but he can’t tell them that either.
“Jack!” Autumn calls, looking over Luther’s shoulder and he turns to see Jack arriving, starting across the room to his office. He doesn’t look up from the papers in his hands.
“Yeah? What now?”
Sandra twists in her seat, “You gotta give Luther a break! You’re gonna ruin that pretty face!”
Luther ducks his head, tries not to blush. The only times he’s been called ‘pretty’ or ‘handsome’ was in some magazines when he got older. He doesn’t think of himself that way, especially now.
“Pretty face isn’t what keeps the lights on girls, it’s the muscles,” Jack says.
That’s always why Luther’s been useful.
Jack stops outside his office door, “Those lemon bars? Save a few for me.”
“Of course Jack,” Autumn says with a smile. The girls like Jack, he’s easy to work for.
Music comes on as Marvin puts a record on, a signal for the girls to start getting ready. Patsy whines that she wants to listen to Elvis Presley and Sandra says of course she does. Patsy gives Marvin doll eyes and he relents and the song switches, ‘There’s Always Me’ filling the bar with Elvis’s smooth voice. Luther likes it enough but some days he misses Cyndi Lauper fiercely.
“Promise?” Autumn says, still behind the counter, looking at Luther with a soft expression, “That you won’t get hit there again? It’s gonna leave a nasty scar.”
Luther gives his best reassuring look, “Promise.” He can’t tell her it’s all planned, every punch and kick. Luther spent 24 years of his life training to fight much worse people than some thugs in an dirt floor ring in a shack, every hit he takes is on purpose. Jack’s the only one who knows something’s a little off about Luther and he says he has to bleed a little, can’t make it look too easy.
Luther sees it as a requirement, a small sacrifice. He’s got a room and a job and free meals, and he knows he’s gonna win the fight anyway. What else is he supposed to do? He was dropped in the middle of nowhere, decades out of time, and dad…well, he won’t help. He tries not to think about how dad spoke to him that day, about the look on his face.
Autumn smiles like she’ll believe him for now, then takes the Tupperware with her off to the backroom to change. Luther finishes his dinner and drink alone at the bar until the first patrons show up, rubbing their hands together in excitement, eyes on the stage even as they order drinks. Luther starts his rounds.
It’s an easy job, he just mills around, warns the guys who get too loud, shoves out anyone who gets too rowdy or handsy. There’s strict rules on how exactly the men interact with the women and Luther makes sure everyone knows it. And he always makes sure Jack’s happy.
Luther’s not really interested in all the skin on display, he never has been. It’s another item he’s added to the list of ways he doesn’t quite fit; he’s supposed to like this kind of thing isn’t he? All “red blooded American men” like it, that’s what Jack says. Luther just nods, says, “yeah, of course”; something’s always told Luther it’s just not for him..
“You’re not a slobbering goon like the rest of the guys in this place,” Patsy had told him once after he’d thrown out some guy who got too bold, “You’re a real gentleman.” But he doesn’t understand how he couldn’t be, not with them, and that’s not even because of the other thing.
The night goes well enough, he only has to talk down a group of sailors who get too noisy but they get an eyeful of him and simmer down. Autumn makes her rounds, comes up to him at one point.
“Can I ask a favor Lu?”
“Always.”
“Well April borrowed my car yesterday and left it with a flat, didn’t bother to tell me-”
“Oh April,” Luther says, shaking his head. He’s used to these kinds of stories about her sister.
“I know right? That girl, I swear. Anyway, I was wondering if you’d walk me home tonight?”
“Of course,” Luther says, “I’ll check with Jack, make sure he doesn’t have anything for me at close.”
She beams at him, “Thanks Lu, you’re the best.”
He has to check with Jack because he’s got to put Jack first, it’s just part of the deal. He doesn’t have anything to do with parts of Jack’s business, parts that he doesn’t look into or think about too much. There’s an irony there about being a former superhero working for…whatever Jack is, but he has to run errands, sometimes even at 2 a.m. But tonight he’s free, Jack waves him off saying, “Yeah yeah, make sure my girls get home safe.”
Autumn’s waiting by the door in her street clothes when Luther finishes with Jack. Marvin locks the door behind them as they step out onto the quiet street.
Autumn gives a sly look as she opens up the Tupperware container, now half empty. “Come on now, you’re gonna make my ma real sad if you don’t at least try one.”
Luther purses his lip against a smile, sighs. “A bite.”
Autumn’s nearly giddy as he breaks off a piece, pops it in his mouth. She watches him expectantly. “Your mom’s an amazing baker,” he says and she grins proudly.
It is amazing, reminds Luther of a lemon cake mom had made when they turned 14.
The night is quiet and warm, the only place still open is the 24 hour diner down the road. Autumn says she likes their pancakes but other than that they don’t talk much. Luther finds it’s kind of nice that they don’t have to.
Her place isn’t far and he stays to watch her unlock the door and go in, she gives a wave as he stands at the gate.
It’s a longer walk back to his place from here but he doesn’t mind it. He never just walked around his neighborhood, back when he lived at the Academy. He wonders how different it might all be if he did. He tells himself it’s not a thought worth wondering though, he’s here, there’s no changing it, all he can do is make the best of it, but he’s got a few people who make it easier. He looks towards the sky, thinks about Valentina passing overhead.

MergeMaster part 1
Something had been happening to me. I had just graduated college and to celebrate I got a small equal sign tattooed on my upper forearm. It was my first tattoo and I was so excited to get it. For 2 tiny lines it felt like I was being branded. My whole arm was on fire but numb at the same time. The tattooist was worried but he finished quickly enough and wrapped it giving me instructions on how to care for it while I healed.
That night I tossed and turned never able to find sleep. It felt as if my whole body was consumec in flames but at the same time I was drowning in an artic ocean. When I finally came to I looked at my arm but the tattoo was the same. I put my glasses on and looked in the mirror, but it was my same reflection staring back. I dont know what i expected but it was just me, Aiden, same small frame, skinny but no muscles to speak of. It was weird, I felt different, I knew I had changed somehow.
I decided it was nothing and got prepped for my day. I was meeting up with my friends for lunch then we were gonna spend some time at the mall looking at new games. I drove downtown to the cafe and saw Connor an Taylor at a table.
"Their so cute I wonder howd they'd look as one" the thought flitered accross my mind. Before I could worry about the errant thought, my tattoo started to throb, I grabbed my forearm and took a glance at it. The tattoo seemed out of focus and my eyes were watering the world started to spin. Then everything stopped. Embarrassed I looked up to see if anyone had noticed, the cafe just seemed to go on as normal no-one was even looking at me. I got my bearings back and turnec towards my friends. Only instead of 2 people there was only one stranger sitting there.
I lurched toward the table and the stranger stood up. He leaned his head down, smiled at me and kissed me on the cheek. Stunned and out of words I was hit with a jarring sensation only this time I knew I was different. I felt smarter and taller like all my proportions had changed. The guy had sat back down and started to eat.
This was Caylan!! My boyfriend!!
The world started to feel right again as I sat down and started to join him. The food was good and I was starving, Caylan and I started to talk about our day and how we were both excited to go to the art exhibit downtown. We were finishing up when I noticed a group of skater guys entering.
"Wow so skinny it would be better if they could be a single person"
Where the hell did that thought come from? The Tattoo started to burn and I gasped for air, the world came to a halt I looked up and the 3 young men were superimposed on each other. I tried to focus on what was happening but I couldn't help but look down at my arm for a quick second. A wave of dizziness consumed me then nothing. The world was back and Caylan was chattering away next to me. My body was still weird, my clothes felt to small and I could feel my muscles spasming.
Caylan stopped mid sentence as his attention was pulled towards the entrance. I looked up and gasped walking in was one of the hottest man I had ever seen. He just oozed masculinity and a hushed silence fell over the crowded establishment as this greek statue made real sauntered in and walked over to a woman sitting alone.
"Lucky bitch" my fiance muttered and I couldn't have agreed more.
Caylan and I stood up and I adjusted my glasses as we walked out. We got into my car when my slightly shorter but way more muscular fiance reached across the seats grabbed my head and pulled me into a kiss. I could feel myself getting aroused.
"Babe lets skip the beach and go somewhere more private"
I immediately started to head back to our loft while he continued to fondle my gear shift. We made it inside and began to divest ourselves of clothing. As Caylan ran towards the bedroom I took a moment to look in the mirror and appreciate all the progress I've made since meeting him and my new tattoo.

You hadn't been with the group from the beginning, but you still were quite close with everyone. You'd met Mako and Bolin a while ago when you had to fight against them in a Pro Bending tournament, and even though you were adversaries, you got along pretty well outside the ring.
You'd lost touch with them until one day you ran into Mako and he practically begged you to spend some time with him to catch up a bit, which eventually led to you meeting the girls and also Wu, and later joining the whole group.
When you first re-encountered with Mako, Korra was still away from Republic City, and you were extremely excited about meeting her. And from the very beginning, you were mesmerized at the sight of her, she was extremely beautiful to you, and you sometimes found yourself thinking a little too much about her.
You thought that there was no point in telling her how you felt since you were convinced she liked Asami, so you just stayed quiet while your feelings grew with every passing minute.
You didn't know that Korra felt the same way, though. She was intrigued by you from the first moment she saw you, but after being away from her friends for three years, she thought that maybe there was something going on between you and Mako, and she didn't want to come in between you two. So it was this never-ending cycle of confusion and wrong thoughts that neither of you seemed to be able to escape from.
You loved spending time alone with her. It didn’t happen very often, but when it did your heart just burst out with joy, and sometimes you couldn’t help but daydream about being with her, but you knew that there was no point in that, not when she liked someone else. You both spent a while without saying anything about your feelings while trying to hide them as they grew stronger but with the imminent danger that Kuvira meant, you thought that maybe it would end up being too late. Still, you didn’t say anything at all.
When the day came to fight against Kuvira, once Asami’s father managed to cut a whole on in Kuvira’s suit, Mako, Bolin and you headed to the power core of the machine and fought the guards that were there. You tried to follow Bataar Jr.’s instructions but it didn’t work out, but when Bolin said that the only thing he knew about spirit vines was that they exploded easily, you and Mako knew what you had to do. You could both lightning bend, so you told Bolin to take the guards somewhere safe. He was hesitant at first, but you promised you’d get out of there as soon as possible.
You both shoot lightning at the power core and ended up making it explode. You tried to escape, but you were both left unconscious by the backlash of the spirit core energy. Luckily, Bolin came back for the two of you and managed to save you. Mako managed to wake up shortly after, but you were still passed out, even when Korra came out of the new spirit portal with Kuvira. They were all happy about winning the fight, but as soon as Korra saw you, she was afraid that maybe it was too late.
She tried to heal you, and could even feel the tension and pain all over your body. Once she was done, you opened your eyes for a bit before closing them again.
“(Y/N)? Please, wake up!” Begged the girl, but you just couldn’t listen to her.
“Are they…?” Began asking Bolin, with tears already threatening to fall from his eyes.
“They’re alive, Bolin! But I think it’s going to be a while until they wake up,” she said.
…
A few days later you finally woke up. You were in an unknown room, and when you moved your head a little, you saw that Mako was sitting in a chair right next to your bed. You let out a small groan and he immediately woke up.
“(Y/N)! Oh, you’re awake!” He said while quickly getting up to sit on the bed, while also grabbing one of your hands.
“Mako? W-What happened? Where am I?”
“You’re in my apartment, (Y/N),” he answered. “Are you okay? Do you need anything? You’ve been asleep for a few days.”
“The last thing I remember is you and me inside that robot,” you said, still trying to comprehend everything around you. “Then suddenly everything went dark.”
“Yeah, Bolin got us out of there, and then Korra healed you but you remained unconscious until now.”
“Wow,” you said once he was finished. “Where is she? Is she okay?”
“She’s fine, I haven’t seen her a lot since I was here taking care of you,” he replied. Your heart broke a little bit at the thought of her not coming to see you and you even wanted to cry a bit, but you were feeling so many things at the same time that you were just extremely confused. “Zhu-Li and Varrick are getting married,” commented Mako.
“Wait what?” You asked surprised. “When?”
“In a few days, you’re obviously invited but we didn’t know if you’d be awake, so...” You slowly nodded at his words.
“So… would you be my date to the wedding?” You asked. “Platonically speaking, of course, you know?”
He let out a small giggle before responding. “Of course, (Y/N), plus I know you like Korra way too much,” he said. You opened your eyes and stared at him. He looked back at you and just shrugged his shoulders. “I guess you’re a bit too obvious, my friend.”
…
You were wearing a black suit with red details, and you made mako wear a red tie so you two could match. However, once the ceremony was over, you drifted away from everyone; you were feeling a bit sad and you didn’t want to ruin such a beautiful night, so you figured it would be best if you just spent some time by yourself.
Suddenly you felt some steps right behind you, and when you turned around you saw Korra walking towards you. You turned back around and let out a small sigh.
“Hi, (Y/N). Can I sit here?” She asked. You nodded and she sat by your side. “How are you feeling?”
“A bit better than when I first woke up,” you admitted. “Mako told me that you healed me, I wanted to thank you for that.”
“You don’t have to thank me, (Y/N),” she told you. There was a small silence between you two. “I guess he also told you that I didn’t really visit you,” she let out.
“Yeah, he did,” you mumbled.
“I’m sorry about that, I just couldn’t see you like that,” she said. “It was too much, and I didn’t want to think that I could lose you.” You blushed a little at her words, understanding her a lot more than before.
“I’m not going anywhere, Korra. Because, to be honest, I couldn’t really stand being away from you either.”
She smiled at your words and let out a sigh. “So, how’s everything with Mako? He was really worried about you too,” she asked you.
“Oh, everything’s fine,” you answered. “I’m really glad I have a friend like him in my life.”
“Wait, what?” She looked at you confused. “I thought you and Mako were together, like dating.”
“What? No, oh no, we’re just friends.”
“So you don’t like him?”
“No, I mean not like that. I can’t believe you thought I did,” you said while giggling. “It’s like, imagine if you weren’t actually dating Asami and someone thought you were, it’s a bit funny.”
“But I’m not dating Asami,” she replied.
“Wait, really? But do you like her or something?”
“Asami and I are just friends, (Y/N).”
“So you’re telling me that I’ve been hiding my feelings for you just for nothing?” You mumbled a bit too loud. You realized she heard you and for a few seconds, you both looked at each other, wondering if what was happening was actually real.
“You have feelings for me?”
“Kind of… I mean, I do, but I totally get it if you don’t, I don’t want to make you uncomfortable or anything,” you said.
“But what if I have feelings for you too?” She asked you. Suddenly your eyes lit up while looking at her face, thinking that there was no way this was actually happening.
“Please don’t get my hopes up like that, Korra.”
“I’m being serious, I do have feelings for you, but I thought you were with Mako, so that’s why I didn’t say anything.”
You quickly got on your feet with excitement. “I never said anything because I thought you were with Asami!” She got up too and grabbed both of your hands.
“I can’t believe this is actually happening. Am I dreaming?”
“If you are, then I’m having the same dream.” You turned your gaze to the side for a moment and took a deep breath. “Is it okay if I kiss you?”
“I thought you’d never ask.”

101 Open MHA Gen Prompts
I had a very long ask game where people gave me fake titles and I came up with fic ideas to go with them. Multiple people asked to use some of them as prompts, and some of my friends have lately maligned the lack of gen prompts out there, so I decided to compile them all into a single post. 73. All Men are Not Born Equal - Word gets out to the public that izuku used to be quirkless. Everyone finds out just how deep anti-quirkless sentiments run when some begin to question whether a quirkless kid should be at ua, regardless of whether or not he has a quirk now.
74. Childhood is the kingdom where nobody dies - Something about encountering death in person for the first time being the dividing line between child and adult.
75. Sins of the Father - All for One has had many children over the centuries, and has made numerous attempts to groom them into the ideal heir with several different methods. None of them worked though.
76. Where The Dead Come To Rest - The kids come home after a long, grueling mission where they saw some shit, and are too tired to process what they went through. They take off their gear for plain clothes, then sit in the common room in silence long into the night, not wanting to open themselves up but also not wanting to be alone.
77. Rivalry - Nighteye tries to pit Izuku and Mirio against one another. It goes right over Mirio’s head, but Izuku becomes convinced the other boy is in on Nighteye’s plan to wear him down until he gives up One for All.
78. A Subtle Language - All Might and Nana never said out loud that they loved each other, but little things told them that they did. All Might hopes to pass a similar love down to his own successor. But Izuku is very different than himself as a kid, and he needs to learn a new subtle language of affection.

80. A Sight For Sore Eyes - All Might looking after Izuku in the aftermath of the second movie.

83. Eden was Only a Garden - Izuku gets hit with a quirk that erases some of his most traumatic memories, but in doing so loses part of who he is.
84. Run it Down - With all Izuku’s new quirks and his incredible skill, some of the other students with similar powers (Iida, Sero, Uraraka) start to feel like izuku is upstaging them. And it affects their friendship.
85. Fool's Gold - Bakugou grows even more jealous of Izuku having One for All, and his relationship with All Might. He thinks that if he could just prove himself to be more worthy, All Might would change his mind and name him his successor. But in reality, he ends up jeopardizing the relationship they already have.
86. somewhere down the road - The final deadline for Nighteye’s predictions passes, and All Might lives. He debates telling Izuku, as even though it would be a weight off the boy’s mind, he doesn’t want to jinx it. He will still die eventually after all.
87. Just For You - All Might has certain rules and boundaries for fan interactions that he completely ignores for Izuku.
88. if these walls could talk (their whispers would be maddening) - Montage of training accidents in a ‘cursed’ ua gym
89. If Only I Could... - Nighteye tells Mirio about One for All, including that he thinks he’s more deserving than Izuku and he plans to pressure him into giving it up. Mirio struggles with the knowledge that his mentor, someone he respected more than anything, only saw him as a replacement for All Might, meanwhile watching Izuku strain under the pressure of that mentor’s impossible expectations.
90. This is a Test Designed to Provoke an Emotional Response - shameless Blade Runner AU
91. Once and for All - Retelling of the Superman story “What’s So Funny About Truth, Justice, and the American Way?” with All Might. Some new heroes use much more aggressive and violent tactics against villains while also upstaging All Might. That, and there general approval from the public cause All Might to question his moral code.
92. Sitting In The Rain - Tsuyu likes to just sit out in the rain sometimes. Not do anything, just sit there. Some friends decide to join her.
93. At Sundown - Mysterious creatures start attacking ua every night. The gang works tirelessly during the day to find the cause and a solution, while defending their school and each other at night.
94. The 1000th time's the charm - Uraraka has been practicing a new move in secret but they just can’t get it right. She wants it to be perfect before showing it off. But one attempt gets her seriously hurt while training alone at night in one of the gyms, and she’s too hurt to get up to the phone to call for help.
95. Sunflower Seeds - All Might attempts to start a garden as a new hobby.
96. What It Means To Be Human - Sun god Toshi starts living among people.
97. Eyes on Me - All Might teaches Izuku some unarmed fighting moves to defend himself from bullies.
98. one remains - Izuku has developed all but one of the quirks he’s slated to, and he has no idea what it will be. Anxiety ensues.
99. Come Back Home - Izuku vanishes from campus and everyone assumes he was kidnapped, but in reality he ran away to try and clear his head after a depressive spiral. He goes by train as far away as he can until he comes to his senses and calls the others.
100. I Won - Izuku accidentally managed to kill Shigaraki during a skirmish, and while everyone around him praises his heroics, he struggles to deal with the fact that he killed someone.
101. Ivory Tower - All Might grapples with how much izuku suffered as a quirkless person, how he could have done more for quirkless rights in his time as a hero, and how now people may not care as much because he’s retired.

Jack Morton x Fem!reader
A/n: english is not my first language, so I'm sorry if there is any mistakes. It's super fluff, hope you'll like it.
Y/n Duke had been a werewolf almost as long as her older brother Hamish. She's preety close to him, the same way she's close to all the kinghts, exepct for one of them - Jack Morton.
For some reason the girl and the newest werewolf don't get along that well. Y/n never wanted him to be part of the knights and blames him for all the problems with the order, while Jack thinks she's stupid and selfish, since he's a good werewolf. But let's just say that some things are about to change.
The order, and therefore the knights, had a new threat to deal with. A guy called Peter Don was doing lots of bad magic and hunting anyone that knew how to make it, all because he wanted to be the only person that possessed such thing.
Hamish and the werewolfs already knew about this whole thing, but had never managed to found the guy, so when Vera told him his name Duke was quick to call an emergency meeting with the rest.
Lilith and Randall had just arived to the house, only to find Jack and Y/n arguing about something that happend at their class a couple minuts ago, they rolled their eyes and set down, both of them were extremely tired of their bullshit. As soon as Hamish arrived he made them stop fighting and told everything Vera said to him, then the group started to plan what to do next.
Randall and Lilith were going to Peter's workplace, a clothing store, in order to investigate, Hamish was going to do some research about the guy with a couple books Vera had given to him, while Y/n and Jack were going to his place, neither of them were happy with it, but according to the older Duke they needed to be able to work together.
The car ride to Peter's place was very quite and weird. When they arrived Y/n informed their groupchat, Randall and Lilith already were taking a look at the store and Hamish said he hasn't found anything yet.
The duo broke into the guy's house and started to look for anything sightly suspicious. Nothing in the first floor, and nothing in the second, when they were heading to the basement Jack, that was pretty quiet, openned his mouth to talk about something that was not about Peter.
"Y/n"
"Morton"
"Why do you hate me so much?"
A minute of silence followed his question.
"What?"
"Like I get it that I caused a couple of problems and shit, but besides that, what did I ever do for you to hate me that much?"
"Well i-, you annoy me and you also hate me, so I don't get why you are asking me this."
"I was just wondering"
"You can wonder when we catch this bad guy"
The conversation ended but Y/n kept thinking about that. Why did she hate Jack so much? Okay, sure, he was annoying, but there was something more and she couldn't find out what, and this was making her pretty pissed.
Morton and Duke entered the basement, only to see something, actually, someone that Y/n didn't like that much either - Alyssa Drake.
Jack got quite excited to see the girl he once had a crush on, what only made Y/n roll her eyes. Alyssa said Vera asked her to see if his house had something weird, but she hadn't found anything. Jack started to make a small talk with her, and Y/n quickly dragged him out of that place.
"You should stop talking to Alyssa"
"What, why?"
"There's something about her that dosen't sit right with me"
"Are you jelous?
Y/n turned to Jack with a pretty angry face, but if you looked close enought a blush could be seen.
"If you think I'll ever feel something for you Morton, you need help"
Jack looked a bit sad, but hided that with a playfull smirk, when he was about to open his mouth to say something sarcastic, Y/n screamed.
Peter had found them, stabbed Y/n and started to run. Y/n feel into the ground and tried to stop the bleeding.
"Go after him"
"What no I can't just let you bleeding here"
"It's okay, I'll heal"
The boy stoped to think for a moment, but when Y/n gave him the sweetest smile ever, he decided to go after Peter, after all she's a werewolf, she would be fine.
Morton started to run after Don, but Y/n wasn't healing, so she looked over to her belly, and guess what, a green smoke was coming out of it. The knive Peter used was poisoned, Y/n thought it was funny, since her brother had once being stabbed by a poisoned knive. She tried to reach her phone and call someone, but she didn't had enought strenght for that, the poison was way to strong.
All she could do was wait for Jack to come back and help her. When Y/n was about to close her eyes she heard him call her name and Jack started to run towards her.
The order wanted Peter alive so that they could ask him questions, so Jack had only knocked him out and was trying to get him to his car.
He kneeled next to Y/n and told her to hold on while he pressed her belly to make the bleeding stop. The first thing Jack did was call Alyssa, he asked the blonde girl to come pick Peter and take him to Vera, then he proceeded to pick Y/n and take her to his car.
Alyssa did what he asked and Jack was now driving pretty fast to the knights place. He kept assuring Y/n that she would be fine, but deep down he didn't really know what would happen, the only thing he knew was that he couldn't just lose Y/n, no not like that.
As soon as he arrived at the house Jack picked her up very carefully and opened the door. Lilith looked over from her sit to see what all that noise was, only to find her best friend dieing in Jack's arms.
While Morton was putting her on the sofa, Batory shouted for Hamish and Randall that came downstairs running. Jack told everything that happen and Lilith was preparing a potion that would cure her, at least that's what they hoped, Hamish and Randall were freaking out.
Y/n drunk the disgusting potion and the green smoke was gone. She was fine and already healing. The knights were pretty happy and relieved, but Jack still had a sad expression.
He almost lost the girl he loves and she doesn't even know that, actually it's worse, she doesn't feel the same.
After that Randall left, he had a date with Gabrielle, Lilith helped Y/n go to her room upstairs and went to her own, Hamish had to go report everything to Vera, and maybe make out with her, but Jack had nothing to do, so he just set down in the living room and kept thinking about his feeling towards the girl that hated him.
A couple hours passed, it was pretty late now, and Jack got tired of just thinking, it was time to do something about that, even if later he might regret it. So he walked to Y/n's room expecting her to still be awake. Her door was open so he entered the room.
"Wow Morton what are you doing awake? It's pretty late."
Y/n said that in a very cute tone, not the one she usually uses with Jack. The thing is that she had also being thinking about the same thing he had. Y/n realized that the reason why she had been hating him so much lately, was that she actually liked him and was scared to do something about it, so Y/n thought pretending she still hated him like she once did would make her feelings go away. But today when she saw Jack all worried about her, everything changed.
"Don't say anything just let me talk. I don't hate you okay, I once did but not anymore."
Y/n was very confused.
"I like you, not only as a friend. I have been liking you for a couple months now, and I didn't knew how to tell you."
Okay now Y/n was chocked. Was she dreaming? Did the poison actually kill her and now she was seeing things?
"Look I know you hate me and stuff, but today when you almost died I realized I needed to tell you, so well, you know."
Y/n got up from her bed and walked up to Jack.
"You can keep hating me no problem, i-"
"Just shut up and kiss me Morton"
"Wait, what?"
"I like you too asshole"
"For real?"
"Yes"
Y/n and Jack kissed each other with a lot of passion and love. It was a slow and sweet kiss, but a very needed one, after all both of them had been pretending they hated each other for way longer than they should.
After what seamed to be a long time, they finally broke the kiss to breathe, and they couldn't stop smiling, everything was okay now.
"Wow, hm this was pretty nice, but I think you have to rest, I mean, you were stabbed today"
Y/n agreed and Jack started to leave her room, but she stopped him before he could actually leave.
"Can you stay here with me?
"Of course"
Y/n and Jack got into the girl's bed and cuddled. Her head was close to his neck and he was holding her while drawing random things with his finger in her exposed skin.
The room was silent, but there was no need for words, all they needed was each other. Then Jack said something and blushed
"Can you play with my hair please?"
Y/n smiled and nodded. Now her hand was tangled in Morton's hair, both of them were extremely happy.
Time passed and they stayed like this, sometimes Jack would say something about how good that felt and Y/n would laugh saying she loved his hair. That was when she started to feel her eyes closing, she was super tired.
"Thanks for helping me today, and thanks for staying here with me."
Y/n said that in a tired and sweet voice while yawning.
"Anything for you princess."
Jack kissed her forehead and they fell asleep together without a care in the world.

Lin Beifong x Reader
kind of a sequel to this headcanon with Lin Beifong
The advantage to be the Avatar's friend is that you not only travel different places with her, you as well make a wide circle of friends and acquaintances. So it's not a surprise that you joined the search for new airbenders after the Harmonic Convergence. You were glad to find new airbenders with Korra and her friends, you thought that Lin will be against that, but she tells you to do what you please.
- Are you not mad? You ask thoughtful
- You know I never could be mad at you, also, spirits know, this group need someone who can think. She said with a small smile.
The journey was intense, and without any success, only one airbender has joined you. Ba Sing Se was even a bigger mess, the queen holds airbenders hostage for her own army, the blood in your veins was boiling. How dare she hold these people? You thought nothing could calm you down, It was until you saw your girlfriend who notice your anger and sadness. She learns about your situation and warns Korra about Red Lotus, whose members had escaped. Later, when the airbenders were safe, she holds you in her arms while you let all the emotions through tears.
- I saw enough of Ba Sing Se, remind me never to come here. You said while Lin just let a small laugh.
You were so excited when you heard that another airbender was found in a city entire made of metal. But you knew something was wrong the moment you saw Lin's face when she heard about Zaofu. Her frown became even deeper and she looked rather annoyed, insisting to turn back to Republic City. You stayed silent as Korra and Lin had a fight about if they should return to Republic City or collect a new airbender. They decided the last one.
- Something's wrong? You asked when you two retired to yours shared room.
She sighs heavily and gives you a painful glance, instinctive you pulled her closer to your body and give her a bear hug, so she knew that you're here for her.
- It's ok if you don't want to talk about it. You said concerned
- There's someone in Zaofu that I don't want to come face to face with. she said so low that it was almost a whisper
- Who? You question impatiently
- My sister.
When you arrived in Zaofu, Lin chose to remain inside the airship, instructing the group to not tell that she came along with them. You roll your eyes, the last night the only thing she told you was that she doesn’t want to face her sister because of a big conflict they had in the past. You tried to reason her why she should encounter her sibling, but she was way too stubborn to see your point.
Aiwei show you the city, the statue of Toph Beifong, who invented the metal bending. You with Bolin were so thrilled to see the city, their buildings and architecture.
- You are so lucky to date the Toph's daughter. He said, whispering to you.
You giggle at these words
- Well, you lucky enough to try and learn the metal bending, at this word he let a deep sigh
- I hope.
You meet the matriarch of the city at dance rehearsal, you let a surprised sigh, because she looks so much like Lin, perhaps both of them look very much like Toph? Probably you never saw her in real life, only the statues and some portraits in the books.
Suyin named all of your group members, giving you a smile.
- I heard you are a wonderful healer?
- Yes, she is, the answer for you Korra, but also one of the best fighters. You heard a tone of pride in her voice and suddenly you felt shy.
Your discussion was interrupted by Aiwei who leans to Suyin and whispered something in her ear. You frown deeply when you saw that, looking at you Korra smiles, because this face reminds her so much of a certain Police Chief. But you realized they knew there was someone else on the ship, because of the seismic sense, such being the case why you could never give Lin sneak hugs.
- Aiwei says that there is someone on your ship?
- I told you Y/N, its Chief Beifong, for some reason she didn't want to come with us?
- Lin is here?
- Do you know her? Ask Korra dumbfounded
- Didn't she told you about me? Y/N notice the hurt in her voice
- Suyin is her sister, Lin's sister. You offer clarity
After the reveal, everyone suddenly developed the ability to walk fast, you barely could to hold the pace. They rushed so fast, that you were the last one to enter. When you come into the ship the intense atmosphere could be almost touched. Two Beifong's siblings gaze at one another and then the hell gets loose. They accused each other of so many things, such as tearing apart the family, Suyin accused her sister of not making any contacts with her in thirty years. You saw the almost ashamed stare in Lin's eyes at this word, so you moved to her side to bring a little bit of comfort since everybody looked for some reason so betrayed.
- Y/N why don't you tell us? Wonder Bolin
- I thought you didn't have secrets from me? Korra asks a little bit hurt
At first she was shocked when you reveal your relationships with Chief Beifong, after that she enjoyed to tease you about it. But then the reality hit her, you started to spend so much time with Chief Beifong, that she internally always rolls her eyes. Isn't chief very busy woman? It bugs her how you depart from her, she was so happy to spend some time with you at home, but then Unalaq happened. She was relieved when you decided to help them to find the new airbenders, but then Chief joined them and it was once again you and Lin.
- I'm sorry that I didn't tell you, you started to apologize, but that's not my secret to decide to reveal it or not. Also, I thought we came here to meet the airbender? You try to pretend you don't see Su's intense gaze.
- It's my daughter, Opal. Finally said Suyin
You were holding Lin's forearm, while Suyin decided to introduce her family, you wonder if it's for the whole group or only for Lin. She started with her twin sons, Wei and Wing, who were playing power disk, something they invented. She proceeds to introduce to Huan, a metal bending sculptor, to his delight you let go of the Chief hand to take a closer look at his work.
- It's so beautiful and unusual, you smiled when you heard a small noise produced by Lin.
- Finally, said with pride Huan, someone who understands art.
While Suyin takes you to meet her daughter you came closer to Korra.
- Listen, I'm sorry that I didn't say to you anything, but as I said it's not my secret.
- Well of course it's not, it was yours and Beifong's secret, one of the many I guess. She said with a huff
- What do you mean? You looked puzzled
- I'm ok that you two dating, I'm even ok that Chief keeps her secrets, but you are my friend and I met you first, she said, looking at Lin who clearly could hear them, the last one rolled her eyes.
- I'm still your friend and I care about you, I'm sorry that I didn't pay you a lot of attention. You said sadly
- No Y/N, I'm sorry, Korra stoped you while everyone keeps moving, I guess I'm just a little bit jealous, she gazed ashamed to ground.
- I guess we both are guilty. You said, taking Korra in a warm embrace that she returned.
You meet Opal soon after, the young woman expresses so much of delight over meeting her aunt. But still mad at her sister Lin dismissed girl's joy, receiving a disapproving look from you. On the other hand, you are pleasant to encounter with her.
- I like your hairstyle, she said with a smile
- I can try to make you a similar one.
- So we have the airbender, we should turn back to Republic City where I can protect Korra from members of the Red Lotus. Your chatter was interrupted by Lin.
- Zaofu is the safest city in the world, I assure you, Avatar Korra is secure here.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You admired the Huan's sculptures when you saw a shadow approaching you.
- There's something stunning in metal, you said while turn around to see Suyin, perhaps the way sun reflex on it.
- Bolin said you see my sister. She said with a small smile
- By see you mean dating? You chuckle.
- So it's true, I never thought she would find someone who will bear her.
- She's not how you all portray her, just because she doesn’t show off all of her emotions, don't mean she is evil and have none. You rant, not in the mood to listen how your girlfriend is bad.
- I'm sorry, I didn't mean anything malicious, but sometimes she's so stubborn. She let a long sigh from her lungs.
- Well, I'm pretty sure not only her since you had such a big fight that destroyed your relationships. You said still defensively of Lin
- You right, I guess we didn't just inherit earthbending from our mother. She said with a smile, that you return. After that the silence fell between you two.
- I want to make up for the way we meet today, do you know how?
- I need to know as much embarrassing stories as you can recall about Lin. You said with a sly smile on your face.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was early morning, the early fight between two Beifongs still fresh in your head, you were so scared that they will hurt each other. But when Lin lost her consciousness, your heart skipped a beat, you tried to heal her, but except some small scratches, she is physically healthy. It was a deep emotional wound, that sadly your healing can't even touch. You smile slightly at the peaceful face, no frowning, just Lin. You saw her eyes moving underneath her eyelids.
- How many times should I say to not look at me while I'm sleeping, I can feel it. She said without any malice
-You scared me to death, you get closer to her body on the bed
- I'm sorry, she said while she opened fully her eyes and moved her head to your chest
- How do you feel?
- Relieved.
- Do you want to talk about it?
- Maybe other times, did you even get any sleep? She asks with a concern in her voice
- I couldn't, not until I'm sure you're alright.
She lifts her head from your chest and look at your face.
- You look ill, she said with a small smile. I think you need to sleep.
With that word she switches your position and now your head is on her chest. You raise your head to give a kiss on her lips, after you settled down, she kissed you on the cheek
- Goodnight Lin. You said almost falling asleep
- Goodnight Y/n. she put you closer drifting away as well.
A/N: “Kinda cheesy end, but this woman deserves some happiness. It was supposed to be a comfort Lin small fanfic, but it gets out of my hands and become my biggest English work”

Depressed and touch starved Shigaraki crushing hard on y/n, a new recruit for the league/liberation front. He wants to be in a relationship with her, but is afraid of her turning to dust by his own hands. Little does he know, she feels the same way.
Warnings: Jealous Shiggy, bit of OOC/Yandere Toga? Knives, brief mention of villains/heroes fighting, heavy pining, tiny argument between Shig and the reader.
Ever since the day he laid eyes on you, Shigaraki had it bad. You had only joined the League of Villains a couple months ago, but within that short time span, you had completely captivated his heart. Maybe it was your quick thinking, or your reserved personality, or maybe the way your eyes seem to sparkle with mischief when he talked to you about future plans for the League. Whatever it was, it drew him in further every time he looked at you, brought out feelings in him that he hadn’t felt in a very, very long time; feelings that both scared and excited him to the point where he wasn’t sure whether to pursue something with you or run away.
At first, he chose the latter. A week in to getting to know you and he was terrified that he had feelings for you, so he pulled away in every aspect imaginable. He ignored you during missions, talked to you as little as possible, and barely even looked your way. You were lucky if he even passed by you in the halls of the hideout. He spent most of his time pent up in his room muttering and trying to scheme, although any plans he attempted to make were ultimately thwarted by thoughts of you. It didn’t help that even with the forced distance between the two of you and his giving you the cold shoulder, you were ever the friendly and kind person you made yourself out to be. You still tried to talk to him on the occasions he passed by you, still tried to get to know him without judgement or bias. Ignoring you completely just seemed to make the situation worse for him, so he finally had to face his newfound feelings and accept that yes, he, Shigaraki, had a crush on the new recruit for the League.
But with the acknowledgement of those feelings came another realization: as much as he cared about you, he could potentially hurt you with his quirk. Even if you returned the feelings, further disaster could ensue because of his existence, and that fact stung like no other. All he wanted- no, all he needed -was you. Your touch, your laugh, your whole essence...there was no part of you he didn’t like. He spent nights dreaming of your soft lips, of embracing you from behind and pressing kisses to the top of your head, of loving you without worry and limitations, and yet, he couldn’t have you. The world was continuously cruel to him still, relentless and ever inventive in the ways it found to torture his soul. You, on the other hand...you were the only good thing he had to hold on to in this desolate place.
As Tomura paced the wooden floors of the bar, he brought a hand to his neck, the familiar itching sensation driving him to scratch the same spot over and over again. He hated that damn habit of his, though truthfully he didn’t think he could stop. It kept him sane, gave him something to focus on other than the murky anxiety he felt welling up inside of him. He was like this whenever you were gone, but more so today than ever; he couldn’t stand knowing you weren’t here in his line of sight, that you weren’t under his protecting and watchful eye. Currently, you were on recon with Dabi and Toga, and he had a sinking feeling that something was wrong. His gut lurched whenever he thought about you, and he wouldn’t be satisfied until you were back at the bar in your usual seat, your familiar smile spread over your lips as you sipped on your favorite drink.
“Kurogiri. Any word from them?” This was the second time he had asked about you and the other two LOV members today. His patience was running out now, and he just wanted you back.
“They’re due back at any time, now. I’m sure they’re alri-”
As if fate wanted to prove the bartender wrong, the door to the hideout blew open mid sentence, and Dabi stumbled in with your unconscious form slumped over his shoulders, Toga hot on his heals behind.
“What happened?” Tomura growled out, immediately making his way toward you.
“Recon gone wrong, that’s what,” Dabi quipped. “We got spotted by some heroes on accident, not our fault. Y/N fended them off but she overused her quirk, and they almost got her.”
“Don’t worry, I sliced them up real nice! They were no match against my pretty knives...” Toga trailed off, a murderous glint in her eyes as she brandished a clean knife to look at herself in it’s reflection. “And I saved Y/N. I made sure to teach them not to touch what’s ours, Tomura! No one can have Y/N but us!” She let out a demented giggle.
Shigaraki wanted to correct her. Not ours, mine, he thought. His possessiveness got the better of him, and one look at Toga’s intense gaze was all he needed for jealousy to take root. He surged forward and seized your form from Dabi, careful not to touch you with all five fingers at once as he held you up. Dabi put up no fight in letting you go, completely understanding the situation and passing you over to his boss.
“Is she hurt?” he asked demandingly, giving you a once over for any obvious signs of distress or wounds. He found none apart from small scrapes and bruises.
“I don’t think so. Just unconscious. Side effect of her quirk, I bet.” His blue eyes stared off into the distance behind you and Tomura, gears spinning in his head as he recalled the fight from earlier. “I’ve never seen her quirk in action like that before. She’s strong, I’ll give her that.”
Of course you were strong, Tomura wanted to say. He knew the basis for your quirk, the basics of how it functioned and how it affected others, but new nothing of the drawbacks of it. This was new to everyone.
“Y/N’s quirk is so cool! Isn’t she just the best, Tomura?”
Something about Toga’s smile annoyed him and made the itchy burning sensation return to his neck. Before anyone else could say anything, he turned abruptly and started towards your room to lay you down and let you rest.
“Kurogiri,” he called as he was leaving, “I want a full report of the recon mission later, no details spared. Make sure they understand that.”
“Of course,” he replied cooly.
Tomura supported your frame against his shoulders as he trudged down the hallway with you, every step he took careful and measured so as not to disturb you any more than was necessary. His gut feeling had turned out to be right, after all. If he had just gone with you, this wouldn’t have happened. Even better yet, if he had just kept you here with him, then you wouldn’t have been in that situation in the first place. This was his fault, wasn’t it? It was hard to stop his thought process once it was started, and from there it all snowballed. You would never know how he really felt, and even if he was getting to touch you now, even if for a brief moment just to get you to your room, who’s to say something wouldn’t go wrong? What if he accidentally touched you with all five fingers, and you turned to ash right there in the hall, and died in his arms?
His thoughts were becoming too much to handle, even with you right there beside him. He was pathetic. Leader of a revolutionary and important group of misfit villains though he may be, he still wasn’t brazen enough to tell you how he really felt. And as he pushed open the door to your room and gently laid you down on your bed, he decided it was for the best if he just left you be. Even if he wanted to stay, it would do him no good. He gave you one last soft look and sighed heavily before standing. His brows knit together in frustration as he stepped forward, but a light tug on his sleeve kept him from going any further.
“Tomura...?” you mumbled groggily. “What happened?”
His self doubt slowly ebbed away at the sound of your voice, his anguish quieting for a moment as he down on your bed and met your gaze to explain. Who was he trying to fool? He could never just leave his feelings for you be. “You overused your quirk and fell unconscious. Dabi and Toga-” he shuddered involuntarily at her name, “took you back to the bar after fighting off some scum heroes.”
You sat up as he spoke, your head throbbing but otherwise feeling fine. “How did I end up in my room?” you wondered aloud, looking around to take in your surroundings fully.
“I carried you,” he answered matter of factly.
He couldn’t be completely sure, but he swore a faint blush appeared on your cheeks then.
“Thanks for that.” You smiled kindly at him, warmth radiating from your features and making his face feel oddly hot.
“Oh, sure.” It sounded sarcastic, bitter even. Not how he wanted it to sound. He was getting frustrated again; why did he have to ruin everything he touched, figuratively and literally speaking?
There was a small lull in the conversation, and you unexpectedly reached your hand out for his, resting it on top and caressing his fingers gently in a sudden move of boldness. He recoiled almost instantly, and the next thing you knew he was moving to get up and walk away.
“Tomura, wait-” you tried, desperately wanting his attention. He did pause, but he didn’t turn around, and once again his hand found it’s way to his neck. He really was getting irritated with himself.
“What?” he snapped, pivoting on his heel to face you.
“I’m sorry, I think I misinterpreted something...I- I didn’t mean to...” you trailed off, the dejected tone in your voice stabbing through his cold heart. “I thought you were-”
His blood ran cold at what he thought you were trying to say. Surely you couldn’t mean...
“Thought I was what?”
“I thought- No, I think it was just me hoping this whole time, but...I thought maybe you had...feelings...for me. You seemed so concerned a minute ago, and there was that moment where your face- Um, I could see it behind your hair-” You stuttered out your words, embarrassed to admit your feelings that you were now certain he did not reciprocate.
Tomura, on the other hand, wasn’t sure what to say. You had just openly expressed your feelings for him while believing at the same time that he didn’t feel the same for you, and he hated it. He hated it with all the burning fires in the world, with all the passion and drive he had left. And the worst part about it was that it was his fault. He should have told you. He wished he had told you. He could still tell you...but he wouldn’t. Not if it meant endangering your life, not if it meant that he could potentially hurt you. He couldn’t bring himself to say the words.
Lucky for him, you weren’t willing to let this go so easily.
You saw the tortured look on his face, saw the longing in his eyes and the way his fingers twitched, as if he wanted to reach back out to you. With newfound resolve, you stared him down, willing him to break.
“Don’t look at me like that, damn it.” Curse you. Damn you to hell and back. You did things to him that you had no idea about.
“So you really don’t feel the same?” you pressed, doubt creeping back up your spine.
Maybe you were wrong after all...
“It’s not that!”
Or maybe not.
“Then what-”
“Don’t you know I could kill you?” The words left his lips before he could stop them. “I could accidentally turn you to dust, Y/N. Doesn’t that scare you? Or are you really that stupid?”
“I know that.” You spoke with conviction, understanding finally dawning on you.
He was afraid to hurt you. That had been his reason for pushing you away, for not talking to you, for trying to ignore his feelings for you. He was scared. And rightfully so, with a quirk like his. The thought had crossed your mind before, but truthfully, it hadn’t really been anything more than a passing thought. Once you really got to know Shigaraki, once you saw him leading his small family, you had put all of your trust and faith into him. He was not to be laughed at or underestimated; he was calculated, thorough, and kept his family together at all costs. Even if Dabi sometimes was unruly, even if Toga creeped him out, even if Kurogiri failed sometimes, they all belonged together, and you were happy to be a part of that. You admired him for everything he had done, everything he was currently doing, and all of the great things he would do in the future. Maybe others couldn’t see it right at the moment...but this man was going to change the world.
“But I believe in you, and I trust you would never do something like that to me, even on accident. I don’t think you give yourself enough credit.”
“Don’t patronize me.”
“I’m not. Your quirk doesn’t scare me. I mean it. And another thing,” you gave him a pointed look. “I’m not stupid,” you spat defiantly. For someone so reserved most of the time, you sure had an iron will.
Tomura followed you with his eyes as you got up and attempted to walk over to him, but tripped in the process, still a little out of it from the overuse of your quirk. He was quick to catch you before you could hit the ground, and you smiled up at him once more while he just stared back at you, confused.
“What are you grinning like that for, hm?”
“I told you I trusted you. You didn’t turn me to dust, did you?”
“That’s not funny, Y/N.” Although, his words were all bark and no bite. What you had said was true, and it gave him a bit of relief to think that you were right.
He could make this work, after all. And for the first time in a very, very long time, Tomura Shigaraki felt calm.
He helped you back to bed and sat down with you again, this time planning to stay. And when your hand once again found his, he let you keep it there, enjoying the warm feeling of your touch.
“I know it’s not. I’m serious. I trust you with every fiber of my being, Tomura. I think I love you.”
He could have sworn his heart stopped, or maybe it was time itself that stopped. Either way, he never wanted this moment to end.
Instead of returning your words with his own, he layed down next to you and draped an arm over you. “You should be resting.”
You had once heard that everyone had different ways of saying ‘I love you’. For some, it was telling you to stay safe when parting. For others, it was asking if you had anything to eat yet. So when he spoke, you recognized the meaning behind Tomura’s words even if he wasn’t saying it outright.
‘You should be resting.’
I love you, too.
A/N: WOW OKAY THIS GOT LONG. Also, I’m so, so, SO sorry this took so freaking long to finish. I literally sat down tonight and told myself I was going to work on it, and I got hit with inspiration and BAM it happened. Shigaraki is actually not on my list of characters that I write for, but because it was my first request and I wanted a challenge, I made an exception and wrote it. And damn, anon, did you give me one hell of a challenge. Holy FUCK. Idk why this was so hard to crank out before now, but I’m kind of in love with this? I hope you all like it as much as I do!

better with time. Ch 17
miles apart.
Levi spends the day daydreaming about his past and how you fit into his life now. Now that he trusts you, is this just friendly concern, or something else he doesn't understand. His frustrating thoughts are interuppted by titans breaching Wall Rose. You're in Wall Rose. (AO3)
Words: 1,556
“That brat...” Levi grumbled, his eyes narrowing in suspicion. He watched from his office window in mild irritation as you were pulled onto the back of Reiner’s horse. He was beginning to trust you, but even still there was someone in the 104th Cadet Corps that was a titan beside Eren and you. Any interaction you had with someone was going to give him a headache. Levi and the other higher ups were already looking at Reiner and Berthodlt. Only because they had a close relationship with Annie back during their training days. Bertholdt was a good kid, Levi thought, just lacking in the confidence area and unfortunately attached at the hip to Reiner. Reiner was strong and had good leadership, and close to Eren, that could be concerning only if he were a titan.
Levi pinched the bridge of his nose as he let his thoughts reck havoc on his brain. He sighed before finishing his cup of tea, it had already gone cold but he’d hate to waste the last sip over something so petty as the temperature of the beverage. He gulped it down, only slightly grimacing over its lacking warmth. Watching as the horses pulled off towards the horizon Levi found his eyes landing on you once more. Concern bubbled inside of him, why? He wasn’t entirely sure. Just hoping that nothing would go wrong the first time you spend your day away from him.
No.
He’s just hoping you're not fooling them all. That sounds better. He’s not worrying about you like that. He’s just worried that he somehow let your friendly nature, your humor, and your company dull his senses. He’s worried that now that humanities strongest soldier isn’t around, you, or some other titan in the group will kill everybody. Makes sense. His time off from expeditions was nice, having you around was... Interesting to say the least. A step from routine, now that you can talk you aren’t so much of a bore. He’s put you to good use and now Hange has someone else’s ear to talk off instead of his.
He sighed. No use imagining the worst-case scenario, there are other things to handle for the day. He and Hange have to get to Wall Sina and handle the situation with the pastor. Pastor Nick was hiding things from us, titans literally inside the very walls themself. Today’s task was to get even more information out of him. Levi placed his empty teacup down onto his desk gently before rubbing both hands down his face.
“Tch. That prick.” He spat, anger with the Pastor and the system of the walls swirled in his gut. A rough knock rapped against the wooden door separating him from the hallway, Levi pulled his blazer over his shoulders and headed towards it. Opening the door, he was met with Hange and Armin, who stood anxiously behind the taller section commander.
“Hange.” Levi greeted lazily; his eyes slid over to Armin who looked out of place but he didn’t question it.
“Levi!” Hange shouts, Armin chuckles awkwardly at Hange’s excitement. Armin always thought Captain Levi and Hange were like oil and water, but upon further investigation, they’re more like peanut butter and jam. Levi’s salty and Hange is sweet in their own way, polar opposites but a great duo when combined. Armin found it endearing, it was always amusing to watch them interact.
“Let’s get this over with.” Levi responded coldly. The three of them were off in a carriage toward the wall, in the opposite direction of you.
...
They arrived midday, the entire ride Levi’s mind was busy. Busy with thoughts of the investigation on your end, from time to time he wondered how you were. How were you holding up without him, or no, no. He means, ow were you holding up without Hange?
Yeah... That was a troublesome thought that often would thrust its way to the forefront of his mind. Were you okay? Not if could you be deceiving him, or how you could be a really impressive liar all these months, or even if you were conspiring with other titans. Those thoughts used to plague his every waking thought when you first got here. Now? Now he wasn’t sure what changed, but he didn’t think a liar would be capable of stirring his thoughts like this. He’d always keep a true liar at arm's length, something in him could just sense the ill intent. However, in you, he never got them feeling. He just felt curious and intrigued underneath his façade of suspicion. He also felt, funny enough, a bit of sympathy.
Some weird woman finds out she's over a hundred years old and only by luck is she alive. Her whole family dead and gone and she couldn’t remember them if she tried, can’t even remember herself.
There are times Levi would wish he could forget his past. Forget it all and hope for it to never come back so he could feel some sense of reprieve from his hidden grief. But that’s a lie. His life was hard but he didn’t want to forget it. He wanted to remember his mother. Her face, her hair, her scent, her soft voice always comforting him. The warmth of her touch, her love, and her name. Kuchel was a good woman despite her circumstances. He wouldn’t hate her if she were cruel, but she wasn’t.
He didn’t want forget his friends, Isabel and Farlan. He didn’t want to forget the times they had, the laughs they shared. The peace they brought him. He didn’t want to forget the pain he felt when...
He didn’t want to forget that. That would be a disservice to their memory. He didn’t want to forget any of his comrades. They lived on in his memory, their deaths will be meaningful. He won’t let them go in vain. He didn’t want to lose anybody else.
Only by a miracle will everyone’s lives be spared, but miracles weren’t real. Just childish hopes and dreams. He didn’t have the privilege to believe that his friends would live. So, he just hoped it will be meaningful. He hoped he’d live so they could continue on in his memory. His thoughts were about to drift back to you before the carriage they rode in came to a harsh stop, making Hange awake with a startle.
Now what was a miracle, was the fact that somehow Levi’s jumbled miserable daydreaming drowned out Hange’s incessant snoring. He shook his head before opening the carriage door and hopping down. He winced at the pain that radiated from his thigh. It was healing well enough, but still too much of a risk to get back to fighting. He scowled at the limits of his body, how pathetic this leg made him feel. Annoyed with the memories of the Female Titan. He clicked his tongue before shuffling out of the way to let Hange out of the carriage. They gave Levi a knowing glance before turning to Armin and ushering him off.
“Sent him off to go to Eren and Mikasa. They’re somewhere around here. But never mind that, Levi my friend! Come with me to my lab!” Hange exclaimed.
“I’ll pass. Where’s the sorry excuse for a pastor?” Levi asked, a bored look to his expression. Hange pouted a bit but after catching a glimpse of Moblit walking about looking busy, they recovered.
“He’s in custody, ask Erwin, bye! Moblit! Wait up!” Hange squawked and with that, they dashed out of sight. Levi sighed in defeat. Half of his day was already gone and nothing was going as he had wanted. With nothing else to do, Levi stalked off towards Erwin’s office. The sun was beginning to set already and nothing had been done. With luck, Erwin would be a bit easier to work with that Hange today.
“Only one thing could make today worse.” He mumbled under his breath as he searched for the Commander. After about twenty minutes of searching, Levi finally caught a glimpse of that neat blonde hair. Erwin was a tall man, it would always be easy to spot him in a crowd, that is if Levi had the vantage point to see over a crowd given his own height. Picking up the pace a bit to catch up to the man, just as Levi was about to speak, he was interrupted by a scout. He didn’t recognize the man but he did recognize the look of fear stricken on his face. Levi knitted his brows together; he held his breath for the worst. Please don’t say it.
“Titans! Titan’s breached Wall Rose!”
Levi clenched his jaw. Of course they would. Levi shot Erwin a knowing glance before he walked off to prepare. He’ll be damned if he stays stuck in Wall Sina when you’re in Wall Rose. Was it someone in the 104th? Was it you? No. He didn’t believe for a second you did this, and that irked him. A few months ago, you’d be the first person he blamed, but he’s coming to terms with that fact that he trusts you now. He just hopes you’ll survive on your own until he gets to you. Until, someone gets to you. He cursed to himself, a painful migraine making him wince.
“Damnit!”
